Telugu superstar and politician Chiranjeevi gave an energetic display of his legendary dancing skill at the CineMAA Awards 2016 in Hyderabad on Sunday. The video, which shows him breaking into his signature dance moves, to his hit number Chiki Chiki Chelum from Gang Leader has gone viral. Though a bit reluctant to dance, Chiranjeevi had to bow to the public adulation and was accompanied by younger stars Sunil, Srikanth, Navadeep and Sai Dharam Tej.

Chiranjeevi fans are eagerly waiting for his 150th film, said to be a remake of Tamil hit Kaththi.

SS Rajamouli's Baahubali, which won 13 awards, was another showstopper  at the at the CineMAA Awards 2016.

Senior journalist Prabhu Chawla made a baffling comparison between Modi to Donald Trump on Twitter on Tuesday night calling both of them victims of class bias and elitism. He added: "But both his mind and heart are at the right place." The second sentence has the effect absolving one and trashing another and we are not sure between Modi to Trump, who is better off from the comparison.
The muddled tweet perhaps came from Senior journalist Prabhu Chawla himself, who was
probably operating without the benefit of a customary sub-editor.

But the tweet was off the mark in many ways; calling Trump a victim of class bias was baffling, unless Senior journalist Prabhu Chawla was voicing the stereotype that all critques of right-wingers are from the privileged class.

Needless to say, there were many, especially Modi supporters, who did not like the comparison at all.  Here is their response.

Angry shepherds poison, burn alive 50 dogs in Tamil Nadu village - police arrest four after outcry from animal rights activists (with video)

About 50 stray dogs were burned alive at Keezhamur village near Melmaruvathur, about two hout drive, on June 5. About 70 dogs were reportedly fed with meat poisoned with pesticides. As the animals lay writhing in agony, the dogs which were still alive were doused with kerosene and set on fire. Under pressure from animal rights activists Melmaruvathur police have arrested - Murali, Muthu, Murugadoss and Jeeva of the village, reports The Times of India. The accused were upset that the dogs had been mauling their sheep and goat and resorted to culling them.

About 70 dogs were reportedly fed with meat poisoned with pesticides. As the animals lay writhing in agony, the dogs which were still alive were doused with kerosene and set on fire.

Under pressure from animal rights activists Melmaruvathur police have arrested  - Murali, Muthu, Murugadoss and Jeeva of the village, reports The Times of India.

The accused were upset that the dogs had been mauling their sheep and goat and resorted to culling them.


The barbaric incident came to light when an engineering student and an animal rights activist P Ashwath received a tip off and visited the village with his two friends, Praveen Kumar and Sanjay Yadav, four days after the incident.

They were shocked to see poisoned and charred carcasses of dogs strewn all over a farm and on the bank of a nearby stream.


They say the air was filled with foul stench and several crows, cats and birds had also died of feeding on the rotting carcasses. The friends collected the carcasses and burnt them fully to prevent further carnage, reports The New Indian Express.

A video published by NewsX shows the animal rights activists wearing masks and lifting carcasses.

It is not clear if other villagers were also involved with the act, but they seemed to be supportive of the killing of the dogs.  The police were also allegedly reluctant to pursue the case have now registered a case under IPC Section 429 and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.

The CM’s reference to Kejriwal came in response to a question at a press conference, which he had called to brief the media on his 20-minute meeting with Modi in New Delhi. Ironically, Parsekar had tried to emphasise in the press conference how much he had been impressed by the PM.  He had pointed out that he appreciated the grip hard-working Modi had on the intricacies of Goan affairs.

But his admission that AAP figured in the meeting is not likely to leave Modi pleased.

On its website, Aryaveer Dal describes itself as a revolutionary organization that seeks to ‘inculcate Vedic values in young boys and girls.

It also aims to promote ‘brahmacharya’ and physical and intellectual growth of boys and girls by organizing training camps and workshops.


The Aryaveer Dal video follows similar footage from Bajrang Dal and Durga Vahini in which their members were seen training in arms.

The day BJP’s fact finding committee visited Kairana, a photo showing a peace march of different religious leaders in the village, went viral.

The photo shows a crowd of peace marchers following Hindu, Muslim and Jain religious leaders. There are two Hindu swamijis, a Jain monk and a Muslim maulvi all walking holding hands.

The peace march, which reportedly took place on Tuesday, was poorly covered by the media though Amar Ujala took note of it. Many hailed the photo as a sign of religious harmony in Kairana.

The photo, which was buzzing through the day, picked up pace and went viral in the afternoon, following reports of BJP’s fact finding committee visiting the troubled village.

Kairana has been on the boil after the local MP Hukum Singh compiled a list of Hindu families which had allegedly left the village due to communal tension. The list was challenged by both media and local officials as inaccurate prompting him to make a retreat on Tuesday.

But the fact finding committee, which had been announced by BJP president Amit Shah earlier, went ahead with their programme and spoke to a few Hindu families and local officials on the issue of forced migration.

Critics of BJP allege that the party is raking up a controversy in Kairana to polarise voters ahead of the crucial UP elections.

Copies of Udta Punjab, which had been submitted to the censor board, started getting shared on a few torrent sites on Wednesday afternoon. Every frame in these stills had a watermark, For Censor.

After quick action by producers Anurag Kashyap and Ektaa Kapoor torrent sites removed the leaked copy of Udta Punjab.

The filmmakers reportedly complained to the cyber cell and also contacted the torrent sites, which promptly complied with their request.

Reports were quick to point fingers at censor board which cleared the film only after a ruling by the Bombay High Court. But it would be premature to do so as the censor copy would have passed through multiple hands even in filmmakers’ team.

A police probe should automatically kick in as making public copies submitted for censorship is a serious crime. Only a rigorous investigation can bring out the source of leak.

A young IPS officer K Sasi Kumar reportedly died of gunshot wounds at his official residence on Thursday morning on Thursday morning. A 2012 batch officer, K Sasi Kumar had been posted as the Assistant Superintendent of Police of Paderu Division of Vishakapatnam District.

A young IPS officer K Sasi Kumar reportedly died of gunshot wounds at his official residence on Thursday morning on Thursday morning.

A 2012 batch officer, K Sasi Kumar  had been posted as the Assistant Superintendent of Police of Paderu Division of Vishakapatnam District.

The Indian Express reports that policemen posted outside K Sasi Kumar's residence for security heard three gunshots. When they rushed inside they found him lying in a pool of blood. He reportedly succumbed to the injuries on his way to the hospital.

K Sasi Kumar had taken charge of his present assignment, the second posting of his career last December.

The Express notes that K Sasi Kumar had launched an anti-narcotics drive in Paderu and had seized contraband worth crores of rupees.

A video that allegedly shows Shruti Haasan's wardrobe malfunction has gone viral.

There is a difference though; most viewers are slamming the online channel for declaring a false positive.

The video shows Shruti Haasan getting off her car to the reception of clicking cameras at a recent event. She does look  a little conscious of her dress and adjusts it a bit. But there is no malfunction of any wardrobe as we understand the term.

But the channel probably under pressure to get the eyeballs titled the video a little enthsiastically: Shruti Haasan's Embarrassing Dress SLIP Moment.

Perhaps what annoyed the viewers ,more was the editing of the clip. The less than 10-second long clip was repeated a few times in different speeds.

The video posted on Wednesday has been viewed over 168,000 times drawing  340 likes and 343 dislikes on YouTube. The comments posted in response to the video are not something a family publication like NewsCrunch could reproduce.

Accidental firing may have cost IPS officer Sasi Kumar’s life, say local officials

While the Visakhapatnam police are probing the manner of young IPS officer K Sasi Kumar’s death, there is a growing opinion that an accidental firing may have cost his life. According to the Deccan Chronicle local authorities maintain that the Paderu ASP’s firearm went off accidentally and a bullet hit him in the right temple. It quoted Superintendent of Police (Visakha Rural) Rahul Dev Sharma saying that the incident took place when Sasi Kumar was checking (his weapon’s ) functioning.

While the Visakhapatnampolice are probing the manner of young IPS officer K Sasi Kumar’s death, there is a growing opinion that an accidental firing may have cost his life.

According to the Deccan Chronicle local authorities maintain that the Paderu ASP’s firearm went off accidentally and a bullet hit him in the right temple.


It quoted Superintendent of Police (Visakha Rural) Rahul Dev Sharma saying that the incident took place when Sasi Kumar was checking (his weapon’s ) functioning.

However, North Coastal Zone Inspector General of Police Kumar Vishwajeet suggested that the formal probe was still on. He told PTI that the police were not sure whether it happened accidentally or done intentionally.

“The Visakhapatnam(Rural) SP has rushed to the spot and we are examining the case," he added.


The sentries at the residence of K Sasi Kumar heard a gunshot at 6 am in the morning. They rushed in and saw that he had been injured in the head and took him to a hospital in vain.

While the earlier reports said the sentries had heard three gunshots, later reports said only one shot was heard.


A native of Erode in Tamil Nadu,  Sasi Kumar had taken charge as ASP Paderu four months ago. He had earlier worked as ASP, Allagadda

Four masked men smashed the head of a security guard while attempting to rob an ATM at Chidawa in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan. The coldblooded assault on the security guard, Harish Jhangad, was caught on CCTV and circulated on social media. NewsCrunch has linked to a masked version of the video below and advises discretion in viewing the graphic footage. The footage shows four men breaking into an ATM of State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur (SBBJ) on the intervening night of June 8 and 9. Four masked men smashed the head of a security guard while attempting to rob an ATM at Chidawa in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan.

The coldblooded assault on the security guard, Harish Jhangad, was caught on CCTV and circulated on social media. NewsCrunch has linked to a masked version of the video below and advises discretion in viewing the graphic footage.


The footage shows four men breaking into an ATM of State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur (SBBJ)  on the intervening night of June 8 and 9. One of them is carrying a heavy stick which he uses to repeatedly smash the head of the security guard, who is seen sleeping.

The assault is so ferocious Harish Jhangad stirs a bit but has no chance of even waking up. Beaten up brutally in his sleep, he seems to lose consciousness.  The stick-wielding man is then seen smashing the CCTV camera to stop recording.


Harish Jhangad was shifted to Jaipur's SMSHospitalmuch later, where he slipped into coma and succumbed to his injury on June 14.

The villagers of the nearby Ojatu, from where he hailed from, refused to cremate his body and kept it on a bypass nad blocked the traffic in protest.  


Local officials led by SP Surender Gupta have assured to catch the culprit and also help to the victim’s family. Harish Jhangad’s wife has been assured of BPL cards and a job in local Anganwadi. There is also a promise of free education for his children.

India Today spoke to Acharya Dharamvir, state secretary of the Arya Vir Dal, who said fighting love jihad was key to protecting Hindu culture. The Acharya said the female participants would be taught to stay on guard against Muslim men, who may disguise themselves as Hindus to woo them. According to him Aryaveer Dal is opposed to co-education as it leads to interfaith relationships between Hindu women and Muslim men.

An Arya Vir Dal self-defence camp is currently underway in Aligarh to train young Hindu women to fight off 'love jihadis'.

'Love jihadis' is a term used by Hindutva groups, including Arya Vir Dal, the youth wing of Arya Samaj, to describe Muslim men who allegedly marry Hindu women only to convert them to Islam.

A video of a training camp had surfaced on Wednesday which showed women being trained in martial arts, sword fighting, guns and other military techniques.


India Today has details on the seven-day camp, which is being held in the compound of the Arya Samaj temple at Aligarh's Achal Talab area.


Nearly three dozen Hindu women are reportedly undergoing training in this camp, which has a descriptive but slightly unwieldy title: Arya Virangana Charitra Nirmaan Evam Atmaraksha Shivir.

The organisers of the camp reportedly seek to alert these women on the ''Muslim ploys to trick them into marriage."

Almost everything is wrong with the movie, according to KRK. Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt who look so striking in the film stills are too loud. Almost everything is wrong with the movie, according to KRK. Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt who look so striking in the film stills are too loud. Their acting is over the top  and Alia yells in almost every sentence.

Abhishek Choubey's script is loaded with expletives and was rejected by all till Anurag Kashyap took fancy to it. KRK's only praise is for Diljit Dosanjh, the Punjabi actor, who plays a cop in the movie.

Last year, after similarly slamming Bombay Velvet, KRK had got into a war of words with both Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar. He had claimed that they had both tried to bribe and threaten him.
He had even said that he would stop reviewing films as he was making too any enemies.

KRK seems to have forgotten his promise.

The cricketer, who was rested from the Zimbabwe series, was visiting Gir National Park and Sanctuary along with his wife. They reportedly got down from a safari jeep and took a series of selfies before a pride of lions.
The forest department ordered a probe on Thursday after the photos went viral and Gujarati media published reports on Ravindra Jadeja's adventures at the Gir forest.

Cricketer Ravindra Jadeja and his wife, Riva Solanki, got into trouble after taking a sefie before a pride of lions at Gir Forest in Sasan on Wednesday.

The cricketer, who was rested from the Zimbabwe series, was visiting Gir National Park and Sanctuary along with his wife. They reportedly got down from a safari jeep and took a series of selfies before a pride of lions.

In one of them Ravindra Jadeja is seen pumping up his arms with a thumbs up gesture. In another, he and his wife are posing before the same  lions.

Gir sanctuary is a protected forest and it is an offence for visitors to get off the safari vehicles. The forest staff, who accompany the visitors, seems to have been indulgent towards the celebrity cricketer and allowed him to break the rules. A few forest officials are also seen in the photos.

The forest department ordered a probe on Thursday after the photos went viral and Gujarati media published reports on Ravindra Jadeja's adventures at the Gir forest.

“GNPS is a protected forest and tourists are not allowed to get down from vehicles...We have ordered GNPS superintendent to conduct an inquiry into the incident and file a report,” Aniruddh Pratap Singh, chief conservator of forests (CCF) of Junagadh wildlife circle told The Indian Express.

It is Ravindra Jadeja's second brush with the law after getting married in April this year. During his wedding celebrations a relative had been caught on camera firing in the air prompting the police to order a probe.
Ravindra Jadeja, a Gujarati, hails from the Jamnagar district of Saurashtra.

The forest staff, who accompany the visitors, seems to have been indulgent towards the celebrity cricketer and allowed him to break the rules.

Bollywood heartthrob Sushant Singh Rajput, who recently split from his longtime girlfriend Ankita Lokhande seems to have moved on to the waiting arms of actress Kriti Sanon.

Reports appearing as early as last December suggested that there was a growing chemistry between Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon, when he was still with Ankita.

After the split, Sushant and Kriti started spending time together preparing for and later shooting for Dinesh Vijan's next film Raabta. That seems to have drawn hem together.

Bollywoodlife.com has reported sources close to Kriti Sanon saying she was in the happiest phase of her life thanks to Sushant Singh Rajput.

Media reports say the couple are getting ready to go public with their relationship. Wha's the proof: The photos they are posting on their Instagram pages, say media reports.

In a video, which has gone viral, BB Bull is seen challenging for anyone in the audience to come up and take on her. In a video, which has gone viral, BB Bull is seen challenging for anyone in the audience to come up and take on her. CWE has been set up by the Great Khali, to train professional wrestlers and popularise the sport, in India

Bull Bull’s challenge is taken up by a tough woman described as Kavita who steps into the ring in salwar-kameez. In a few minutes of quick bout she brings down Bull Bull, twice and needs to be restrained from doing further damage.

The video appeals to desi nationalists, who are thrilled about the  power of salwar-kameez over shorts and t-shirt worn by Bull Bull. It has gone viral in Pakistan also.

In the caption for the video, Kavita is described as a former Haryana police officer and a power-lifting and ‪‎mixed martial arts champion.

In a second CWE video posted on Thursday Kavita approaches Sahil Sangwan of CWE, who compliments her on her victory, and in return she says she wants him to join CWE.

The video seems to be just an amateurish promo to CWE,.  What is the give away? The official website lists Kavita among CWE superstars and says she has over two years of experience.

Shruti Tomar of The Hindustan Times visited the Praveen Deshmukh’s father’s puncture shop in Jinsi, Bhopal and found that the reports were correct.  

P N Deshmukh, 55, continues to work at his small shop making a living from it despite having an MLA for a son.

He told HT that no member of his family was greedy for money or power.

He is proud that his son led a simple life, staying with his friends, even after becoming an MLA.

“If my son wanted to become rich, he would never have quit his job as regional manager of a reputed company in Delhi,” he said.

P N Deshmukh is also not bothered that his son may lose his seat. If that happens he will go back to becoming a social worker, he says.

An MBA from Barkatullah University, Praveen Deshmukh shifted to Delhi from Bhopal in search of a better job. He quit a job that was reportedly paying a good salary to join the India Against Corruption movement led by Anna Hazare and got close to Kejriwal and friends.

In AAP’s first government in Delhi that lasted for 49 days, Praveen Deshmukh worked as an OSD to Manish Sisodia.


In the Assembly election the followed, he got a party ticket and won the Jangpura seat defeating Maninder Singh Dhir of BJP by 20,400 votes.



Praveen Deshmukh is 30 and not married.

A powerful Gujarat Minister Shankar Chaudhary taught bad English to students in his constituency by misspelling Elephant.

He wrote Elephent on the black board and as an aghast teacher looked on helplessly, Shankar Chaudhary made students spell the word aloud following his wrong lead.

The incident took place at a government school in Deesa on Thursday and was recorded by the media cameras.

The minister was visiting the school as part of a government programme Shala Praveshotsav to improve the quality of teaching and check dropouts at government schools.

Shankar Chaudhary issued a clarification later saying he had deliberately misspelt the word ‘Elephant’ to test if the students could catch it. He said he also spelt ‘Deesa’ as ‘Disa’ to check if students could spot the mistake.

But the incident blew up with local channels playing it up.

Education has been a source of controversy for Shankar Chaudhary, who has been accused of holding a fake MBA degree.

He allegedly passed his higher secondary (HSC) exam in 2011 and got an MBA the very next year from Vadodara based National Institute of Management (NIM), which also has been accused of selling fake degree certificates.

Shankar Chaudhary is Gujarat’s Minister of state for urban housing, health, family welfare and transport and is said to be close to CM Anandi Ben.
