The CCTV footage shows the forty-year-old man jumping down from the platform and running across two tracks to make contact with the CST-Ambarnath local train.

He gets into his position and waits calmly for the train to run over him. His determination to end his life stands out in the video.

Mid Day reported that officials have not found any identification document from him except a polythene bag.

The 33-year-old Haryana woman, Kavita, took up weightlifting when she was 20. She seems to have excelled in it as weightlifting helped her get into Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) as a constable in 2008 under the sports quota. Now, we know that SSB was created after the Chinese debacle in 1962. It is a specialised force that works with RAW and is deployed at border areas. She was not happy being just a constable and reportedly there was a promise that she would be promoted soon, When that did not happen, she reportedly quit in 2010.

Haryana's weightlifter Kavita achieved instant social media fame after a video showed her - dressed in salwar kameez - bringing down BB Bull Bull, said to be India’s first professional woman wrestler.

According to the legend,  Bull Bull issued an open challenge at Jalandhar after a match for anyone in the crowd to get into the ring and fight her.

Kavita stepped into the ring and defeated Bull Bull with ease.

NewsCrunch maintains that the video was an amateurish promo released  by Continental Wrestling Entertainment (CWE), a professional wrestling academy set up by the former WWE fighter The Great Khali.

The video, nevertheless, turned Kavita into a celebrity overnight though not much was known about her  except that she was listed as a star student at CWE website.

Dainik Bhaskar has stepped in to fill in the gaps.

By the way, Khali has reportedly given Kavita, a new name – Hard KD.

The high-pitch campaign by Asaram Bapu supporters that he has been framed may have a point.

A Reddit user ChunnuBhai has offered conclusive proof that that may indeed be the case  (please see accompanying photo).  

Asaram Bapu was arrested in 2013 when a 16-year-old girl accused him of sexually assaulting her in Jodhpur. He also faces charges criminal conspiracy, land encroachment and other offences framed.

Despite the efforts of a battery of lawyers led by the likes of Ram Jethmalani and Subramanian Swamy, he remains in jail.

Salman Khan has landed in a new controversy for saying he felt like a raped woman when doing tough scenes for Sultan.

There has been a media furor  and even the National Commission of Women is up in arms over his insensitive statement.

Indian Express has released the full audio recording of Salman Khan's comments, which was made during a media interaction, last Saturday at Mehboob studio in Mumbai.

After making the damaging comment, he seems to have realised it immediately and tried to make amends.

Here is how it went.

Salman Khan was sharing with journalists the ordeal he faced while shooting for Sultan. He had to lift and throw a man weighing 120 kg almost 10 times for five different camera angles. And he did this for six to seven hours.

“It is like the most difficult thing...When I used to walk out of that ring, it used to be actually like a raped woman walking out,” he said.

Though there was laughter in response to his comment, Salman Khan realised  he had slipped. he can be clearly heard saying,  “I don’t think I should have...”

He then tried to clarify what he had said, “It feels like the most difficult….I couldn’t take steps...”

As Indian Express rightly notes, the first part of his statement  went viral. The part in which he tried to retract was missed out in the outrage.

Salman Khan had said that he felt like a raped woman after finishing a grueling scene for his upcoming movie Sultan.

In a short monologue, Arnab Goswami thundered that Salman Khan had the audacity to compare a film shoot with rape. Yet, no one in Bollywood had the guts to protest against him as he was a super star, he said.

For the record, a few in Bollyood have indeed spoken against Salman Khan’s remarks. Anurag Kashyap has described them as thoughtless and daft.

The video, in the meanwhile, has gone viral.

Two part-time workers electrocuted while repairing faulty electricity line near Jhansi (graphic video)

Two part-time workers of UP Electricity Board were electrocuted while repairing a 11,000 volts faulty line near Jhansi on Tuesday. One of them died on the pole after coming into contact with the live wire. A fellow worker, who tried to retrieve the body was also electrocuted, and is said to be serious.

One of them died on the pole after coming into contact with the live wire. A fellow worker, who tried to retrieve the body was also electrocuted, and is said to be serious.


NDTV published a gruesome video of the gory incident, which shows the pathetic safety measures, which are being followed in the country.


The video shot by a mobile camera shows the first worker perched on top of the electricity pole, immobile, and probably dead. The second worker is seen climbing the pole and reaching out to the body of the first victim. As he makes contact, the first victim catches fire in a burst if flames.

NDTV informs that the second person reportedly fell down the pole after getting a shock.


The incident throws up questions on letting poorly trained men carry out dangerous repairs without any protective gear and without even cutting off the power supply to the line.

Shirish Kunder’s just released short film, Kriti, a psycho thriller, has glimpses of promise, but fails miserably. The promise exists, in a few twists, like the mannequin you see when the door opens and Manoj Bajpayee steps into his house. But there are also twists that make you chuckle. The movie tries to grapple with the twilight zone, where you are confused between what is real out there and what exists in your mind. That is the world Manoj Bajpayee, a rich writer, inhabits.
The plot is not hair-brained, but the execution is. The movie begins well and goes down-the-hill steadily (video below)

The promise exists, in a few twists, like the mannequin you see when the door opens and Manoj Bajpayee steps into his house. But there are also twists that make you chuckle.


The movie tries to grapple with the twilight zone, where you are confused between what is real out there and what exists in your mind. That is the world Manoj Bajpayee, a rich writer, inhabits.

He is in a new relationship with Neha Sharma; his psychiatrist Radhika Apte warns that she could be just his imagination. In the course of trying to prove that Neha Sharma exists, he kills her.

A cop enters the scene and over the course of investigation it turns out that even Radhika Apte exists only in Manoj Bajpayee’s mind. But she materialises and advises him to put an end to the cop, who is also a figment of imagination.

The plot is not hair-brained, but the execution is. The movie begins well and goes down-the-hill steadily. A thriller with over-the-top melodrama is what mainstream Bollywood can offer and Shirish Kunder stays within the limits. All that is missing is a Farah Khan choreographed dance.

The only saving grace, no prizes for guessing: Manoj Bajpayee.

Pakistan religious leader Mufti Qavi lands in trouble after taking selfies with Qandeel Baloch (With video)

Mufti Qavi, a politically influential religious leader of Pakistan is in trouble after taking a few two selfies controversial TV star Qandeel Baloch. Pak media reports that country’s all-powerful Religious Affairs Ministry has dropped Mufti Qavi from the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which announces the sighting of the new moon during Ramzan. It has also forwarded the issue to the Ulema Mashaikh Council, an apex body of religious scholars, to take further appropriate action.

The selfies went viral and a huge controversy erupted. Mufti Qavi is said to be close to PakistanTehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the party issued a statement distancing from him.

Both Mufti Qavi and Qandeel Baloch spoke to media giving different accounts of how the selfies were taken.

Qandeel Baloch said the Mufti Qavi had tried to get fresh with her. Both of them had met on a TV show and Mufti Qavi had reportedly told her that he would like to see her face before witnessing the moon of Ramazan.

Mufti Qavi also reportedly told her to forget about Imran Khan who is 65 and instead settle for him, as he was just 50.

Qandeel Baloch had made headlines a few years ago when she had proposed to Imran Khan.

But Mufti Qavi asserted that Qandeel Baloch had sought a meeting with him to get rid of a magic spell.

Explaining the selfies, he said she took his cap when he was speaking to someone over his phone.

Two well-known women from Bangalore industrialist Kiran Mazumdar Shaw and writer Rupa Subramanya fought over the Subramanuan Swamy's campaign against economy czars Raghuram Rajan and Arvind Panagariya on Wednesday.

Rupa said Kiran was making dumb arguments. Kiran said Rupa was dumb and dangerous.

Ironically, both seemed to be on the same fence on the issue - were critical of Swamy for running his relentless campaign.

But there seemed to have been some differences in their approach, which triggered the war of words. We are not able to pinpoint the exact fountainhead of conflict as a contentious tweet has gone missing.

From what we gather, Kiran lamented Swamy targeting intellectuals citing an NDTV report.

To which Rupa responded  by urging Kiran not to make dumb arguments.

To which, Kiran responded by calling Rupa dumb and dangerous.

To which, Rupa responded by asking Kiran to stop polluting Bangalore lakes.

Kiran has been battling nationalist trolls for the last few days over her support to Rajan. When a troll alleged that she was favouring the likes of East India Company, she had said dismissively that she did not have time for the likes of him.

Debri Riri, a photoshop stalwart from Indonesia, has apologised for morphing a photo to show Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif holding hands.

The photo had shown Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif attending an Iftaar party holding hands. The photoshop work was so slick, it looked as good as an image shot by a press photographer in a rush to capture a moving object.

The photo had gone viral and triggered an outpour of criticism on Katrina Kaif from Salman Khan fans.

Katrina Kaif had ended a relationship with Salman Khan to date Ranbir Kapoor. Fans were furious that after splitting with Ranbir Kapoor she had boomeranged back to Salman Khan, to use him again.

Though there have been reports of Salman Khan supporting Katrina Kaif during her heartbreak period, the hand-in-hand photo created a huge controversy. It also came as a surprise as Salman Khan is seeking to settle with his Romanian girlfriend Iulia Vntur.

Interestingly, many comments attacking Katrina Kaif on social media were in the Romanian language.

Debri Riri posted a message on her Instagram page saying she is fond of photoshopping images of Indian stars. She apolgised to both Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif saying it was not her intention to cause them trouble,

NCB arrests Bangalore model Darshitmita on drug trafficking charge – narcotics seizure last November triggered probe

The Narcotics Control Bureau (c) arrested Darshitmita Gowda, a Bangalore model, for drug trafficking on Tuesday.

The NCB officers allege that she was part of a gang that peddled drugs in Karnataka and Goa.

They had raided a posh apartment in RT Nagar last November and seized large quantities of cocaine, hashish, MDMA and LSD.

According to TV 9, a peddler Khader, who had been arrested then, revealed information about Darshitmita in the drug running.

As part of investigation, NCB officers picked up Nishant, allegedly Darshitmita’s boyfriend, who claimed Darshitmita managed all the financial transactions.

The Times of India reports that NCB officers issued summons to Darshitmita after collecting evidence against her. She was reportedly arrested under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act when she appeared for questioning.

As the accused family had gone missing, they arrested the 23-year-old sister of the accused husband and shockingly tied her up with a rope before escorting her back to Jharkhand. The unfortunate girl has been identified as Aparna, who resides in the Bank Colony of Alwar.

Her sister-in-law, who is from Garhwa in Jharkhand, had reportedly filed a dowry harassment case against her husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law.

When the Jharkhand Police landed in Alwar they found that accused family had gone missing, leaving behind Aparna. So, they decided to arrest her and took her in a train to Jharkhand, holding on to her with the rope.

The Times of India quotes the police saying Aparna was among the accused. They defended their action saying she had resisted arrest and even fled from custody during medical test forcing them to put a rope around her.

Enrico Di Francesco, a fisherman of the Coastal Italian town of Giulianova, rescued a deer desperately swimming in the middle of the Adriatic sea.

Enrico Di Francesco was out on his routine fishing expedition, recently, when he saw what looked like a log floating at a distance.

He started filming it out of curiosity and approached it for a closer look, and was shocked to see that it was a deer swimming for its life.

He managed to reel it in and bring it to the shore safely. “It was not an easy catch,” Enrico Di Francesco told the local media.

With powerful hind legs and lean muscular bodies, deer are built to swim and they have been recorded swimming up to 10 miles. Deer, who live in coastal areas, have also been spotted swimming to nearby islands in search or safety or food.

When frightened they may jump into water and continue to swim in the same direction they were heading to till they drown.

Indian, Pakistani soldiers clash during Beating Retreat ceremony at Hussainwala border – mock fight gets real (video)

The aggressive beating retreat ceremony that involves staging mock fight between Indian and Pakistani soldiers got real recently at the Hussainwala border in Punjab. The Hussainwala border, where Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru were cremated, was a major transit point between India and Pakistan. Though it was shut after the Wagah crossing was opened, the Indian Border Security Force men and Pakistan Rangers still take part in a daily Beating Retreat ceremony. A video, which was uploaded on YouTube early this month, shows that the aggressive overtures between two Indian and Pakistani soldiers led to a bit of jostling, with both the men making physical contact.

The video is grainy and the part of the ceremony in which the flags of both the countries are held up seem to have triggered the fight.

Every day at sunset the flags of both the countries are lowered ceremonially, folded and held up by soldiers in display.

In the video, both the Indian and Pakistani soldiers, who are seen standing too close for comfort, try to raise their arms higher. As they come into contact, they push each other but are quickly separated by others.

Though a major tourist draw, many are concerned that the theatrical display of aggression between the two countries may actually trigger a real fight.

The Beating Retreat ceremony ironically started in 1959 as a goodwill gesture, but acquired aggressive tones gradually.

In 2010, Major General Yaqub Ali Khan of the Pakistan Rangers and  Director General Raman Srivastava of Indian Border Security Force agreed to do away with angry eyeball-to-eyeball exchange, thumping of boots and other aggressive gestures from the flag-lowering parade.

But that seem to have and little impact and Beating Retreat ceremony continues as before.

Nationalists broke into celebration on Friday after a Whats App post went viral declaring that UNESO had declared Modi as the best PM of the world. Nationalists were jubilant to get an international confirmation on what they have always believed to be true. They started sharing a uniform message congratulating each other for electing Modi, whose worth has now been reognised by a body no less than UNESCO.

Nationalists were jubilant to get an international confirmation on what they have always believed to be true.

And then the trolls went after them for believing in a post that is so obviously fake.

There were many within the Nationalist camp who cautioned against the hoax. Some of them even blamed others for spreading it.  But the post continued to go viral and the congratulatory messages continued to pour in for Modi for getting recognised by UNESCO as world’s best PM.

A mother in Brazil has gone viral after instinctively breast-feeding her baby at the site of the accident, which left her leg badly mutilated. A couple who were on bike with their baby met with an horrible accident after hitting a car. As both fell on the road bleeding, the woman reached out to the baby and started breast-feeding it.
It was probably a mother’s instinctive reaction to calm the traumatised baby (video below)
