British journalist of Indian origin Hasan Suroor, 65, has been reportedly arrested following a video sting by an anti-paedophile group, Unknown TV.

Unknown TV befriended Hasan Suroor on Facebook posing as a 14-year-old girl. The "girl" seems to have brought in a sexual angle to their conversation, eliciting a favourable response from him.

Under British law it is a crime to initiate any conversation of sexual nature with minors.

Hasan Suroor further travelled from Chelseato Deptford Bridge allegedly to meet the 14-year-old girl and have sex with her. He was confronted there by Unknown TV activists, who recorded the encounter and handed him over to the police.

In the video posted online on Tuesday, Hasan Suroor admits to having mentioned that he would be gentle with the girl. He is also seen pleading with the activists asking to be let go as it was his first offence.

Unknown TV is known to employ controversial methods. But it is not known at this stage what made them trail and trap Hasan Suroor, a well known journalist, who has covered UK for several Indian publications.

An Unknown TV member told HuffPost Indiathat Hasan Suroor has been arrested under sections 14 and 15 of the Sexual Offences Act of 2003.

Playwright Girish  Karnad, who has received a death threat for his remarks on Tipu Sultan, says there is no room in the country to debate the former Mysore king  in a civilised manner.

Speaking to The Times of India, he said, as the right wing wants to prove he was a tyrant without bothering about facts, no dialogue on the subject was possible.

During the birth anniversary celebration on Tipu Sultan, Girish  Karnad had said the Bangalore airport could have been named after him instead of Kempe Gowda, the founder of the city, triggering a huge row.

After several groups protested  on Wednesday, Girish  Karnad, who has written a play glorifying Tipu Sultan, apologised.

He suggested that Tipu was seen in large parts of Karnataka as a freedom fighter and a folk hero. But right wing organisations have turned him into a controversial figure in the last two decades.

Girish  Karnad also said he was not bothered about the death threat as he was used to getting them.

Indonesia’s Torajan people, who live in the island of Sulawesi, bring out their dead every August on the festival of Ma'nene.

Ma'nene translates into the 'the Ceremony of Cleaning Corpses'.

On this day, the mummified corpses are brought out, dressed up in their favourite attire  that may include sun glasses, and groomed elaborately.  The mummies are then paraded around the village.

There are various myths that explain the unique Torajan practice, states Daily Mail. But the key seems to be their belief that the festival of Ma'nene invokes the blessings of the departed.

Torajan have converted to either Islam or Christianty, but retain many of their animistic practices.

They have a unique burial practice. Their dead are not put in earth but placed in caves, which are carved into nearby mountains. Dead babies are placed inside the hollow space in the trunk of a growing tree.

Their elaborate burial rituals may also hold the key to the mummification of the bodies.

They are described as "living fossils" as they have retained several morphological characters of their earliest ancestors and can breathe in both air and water.

Though mostly found in North America, they have been spotted in lakes as far away as Hong Kong and Turkmenistan. They seem to have been spotted in Kanyakumari for the first time.

Alligator gars are also reared in aquariums as decorative fish. They can be bought on Olx India for a few thousand rupees. As the fish grow in size many fish keepers are known to dump them in nearby water bodies.

E-commerce company Myntra has ignored a demand from an RSS-affiliated Twitter handle that asked it to stop selling Ruosh shoes, made of cow leather.

The upper body of Ruosh shoes, which is listed in the Material & Care section of Myntra app, is made of cow leather, according to a product description.

The RSS-affiliated Twitter handle (@RSS_Org) posted a tweet on November 11 asking Myntra to take such products off its catalogue. It even said government should take action against Myntra for selling cow leather products and hurting religious sentiments of Hindus.

Myntra responded with three tweets saying the shoe was made of imported leather and was legal. It, however, apologised if any sentiments were hurt, but without taking down the shoes from the catalogue.

@RSS_Org reiterated its demand and many of its followers also joined in asking Myntra to stop selling the shoes. Myntra stuck to its stand by reiterating its triple tweets.

@RSS_Org is  a handle run by RSS members and is followed by nearly 70,000 users, including PM Modi.

An RSS spokesperson told The Times of India that RSS endorsed the tweet by @RSS_Org on Myntra.

Ironically, the latest cow controversy erupted just when PM Modi was facing tough questions on rising intolerance in the country in UK.

PM Modi, who avoids interacting with the press in India, had to face tough questions during his ongoing visit to UK.

A video of the joint press conference with PM Cameron shows Modi handling competently, though not comfortably, questions lobbed at him first by BBC and then The Guardian reporters.

After brief statements from PMs Cameron and Modi, the first question came from the BBC reporter. He asked why India was becoming increasingly intolerant.

The question from The Guardian reporter was long and had multiple parts. He asked Cameron how comfortable he was feeling receiving Modi, who had not been earlier permitted to visit UK.

He also sought Modi's response on London protesters saying he did not deserve the respect that would normally be accorded to the leader of the world's largest democracy.

To BBC, Modi replied that India as a land of Buddha and Gandhi did not accept anything that was against its basic social values.

He said law would act on every incident of intolerance and his government would protect all citizens as mandated by the constitution.

To The Guardian reporter he said he had never been barred from visiting UK though he himself did not do so due to paucity of time.

Sachin Tendulkar, who is in Los Angeles playing a promo tournament, tweeted on Friday complaining that British Airways had incorrectly tagged his baggage. He also added that a family member's ticket had not been confirmed despite vacant seats on the flight.

British Airways came up with its standard response asking Sachin Tendulkar to disclose his full name and address, clearly failing to recognise who it was dealing with.

While Tendulkar ignored it, his 8.4 million followers on Twitter, who were aghast, came up with a response.

Tennis star Maria Sharapova had also been similarly trolled, when she failed to recognise Sachin Tendulkar - given that cricket is not a popular game either in her birth or the adopted country.

Batsmen have different ways to vent out their tension at the crease – well, Virender Sehwag sings Kishore Kumar songs.

The Delhibatsman was caught by the stump camera during second Cricket All-Stars T20 league
match humming hit number Chala Jaata Hoon Kisi Ke Dhoon Mei.

Sachin Tendulkar's Blasters team had to score 263 to beat Shane Warne’s Warriors and Virender Sehwag was in the middle getting ready to face his former colleague Ajit Agarkar.

A video clip, which uses the audio from stump mic, shows him singing without a care, though terribly off key.

Chala Jaata Hoon KisiKe Dhoon Mei… – whack theball goes for four.

But Virender Sehwag seems to have been focused more on the song or taken it literally, he gets out the next delivery and walks back to the pavilion.

The just retired Virender Sehwag built an intimidating reputation with his thick-skinned batting. Batting with a song on lips was how he did it.

On Friday night, at his Wembley speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the success of Imran Khan, a web developer from Alwar, making him nationally famous.

Imran Khan, a math teacher from Rajasthan, has developed over 50 education apps which he has given away for free, Modi noted in his speech before a 60,000 strong audience.

These apps have been downloaded by 2.5 million users and clocked screen views up to 18 million. His most popular app is the General Science in Hindi, which has seen 500,000 downloads.

The usage data is not sketchy as Imran Khan learnt discovered Google Analytics only recently.

The Hindustan Times ran a profile of him recently possibly bringing him to Modi's attention.

Imran Khan did a two-year basic teacher training course and became a government teacher in 1999.

His brother, a B Tech in Computer Science, moved to Gurgaon after he got a job but left behind his books, which got Imran Khan going. He started with HTML, built a few websites and then went on for more complex stuff, including PHP and My SQl.

Noticing his work, a Deputy Commissioner of Alwar got him to build a government website. He also asked him to develop apps. Till the IAS officer showed Imran Khan apps on his iPad, he had not seen one.

As they say, there was not turning back for Imran Khan after that.
