Hindu groups are up in arms against X-Men: Apocalypse, in which the main villain calls himself an incarnation of Krishna. The next edition of the X-Men franchise, which is due in May 2016, released its trailer four days ago. The movie deals with Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant, who had been worshipped as god since the dawn of civilization. As he awakens, he is disappointed with humans and builds a mutant army to wipe them out.

Hindu groups are up in arms against X-Men: Apocalypse, in which the main villain calls himself an incarnation of Krishna.

The next edition of the X-Men franchise, which is due in May 2016, released its trailer four days ago.
 
The movie deals with Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant, who had been worshipped as god since the dawn of civilization. As he awakens, he is disappointed with humans and builds a mutant army to wipe them out.

In the trailer, Apocalypse introduces himself saying: I have been called many things over many lifetimes—Ra, Krishna, Yahweh.


The movie is about how Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) and Professor X (James McAvoy) lead a team of X-Men to stop Apocalypse.

Hindu groups have objected to portrayal of Krishnaas a mutant.  Apocalypse is shown as a blue-coloured figure, the same colour with which Krishnais portrayed in Hindu mythologies.

A US-based Hindu leader Rajan Zed released a statement on Tuesday saying trivialization of Lord Krishna was quite inappropriate and disturbing to the devotees.



He also asked director Bryan Singer to delete all the references to Lord Krishna from the trailer and the final movie.

Comparing Lord Krishna with villain Apocalypse in the “X-Men: Apocalypse” trailer was highly inappropriate. We urge deleting all references to Lord Krishna unless based on scriptures.

Union Minister and senior BJP leader Ravishankar Prasad attacked Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for insulting PM Modi by calling him a coward. Speaking to media, in both Hindi and English, Ravishankar Prasad demanded that Kejriwal apologise for that.

Kejriwal had called Modi a coward and a psychopath on Tuesday morning alleging that he was behind the CBI raid on his office.

As NDTV senior journalist Vikram Chandra pointed out, in his televised response Ravishankar Prasad had objected to only the coward part of the insult and made no reference to the bit on psychopath.

So, does it ­mean Ravishankar Prasad is ok with Kejriwal calling Modi a psychopath?

A heart-stopping photo of Luis Fernando Candela, a fitness fanatic from Brazil, has gone viral.

It shows him dangling upside down over a 1,000 ft cliff high above a beach at Pedra do Telegrafo.

Supported only by his feet, he is seen exercising his abs.

The photo was taken by Candela’s girlfriend, who was reportedly terrified during the shoot.


Daily mail said Candela, who is from Rio de Janeiro, described the act as his 'most dangerous' stunt yet.

It is a trick question to see if the foreigners recognise Modi or really believe that he is a Bollywood actor.

They fall for the question and say Modi is a Bollywood actor, who could be playing mafia boss or a drug lord or an evil father.

He looks like a ''bad dad'' as one of the women, who is interviewed says.

There is no good news for Bollywood either. Most of the people interviewed say they have not seen any Indian film or know about any star.

Live Leaks has posted a video of two Indian cops practicing shooting Bollywood style. As the tag line of video puts it they roll forward and shoot, roll back and shoot, do a backflip and shoot. Their agility is impressive and the synchronised moves catchy. But is it not clear how many bullets find their mark or how useful these techniques are in real-life combat.
As many pointed out there was more of Bollywood than any useful police training in this video.

The Nitish Kumar-led Bihar cabinet has taken a decision to celebrate the birth anniversary of emperor Asoka on April 14 every year. Biharis, who take immense pride in the accomplishment of Asoka, will also enjoy a state holiday on that day. But The Telegraph notes that historians are sure of neither the date nor the year in which Asoka was born.
It is estimated that Asoka was born around 304 BC,
give and take a few years on either side.

The poster and trailer of the movie of Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 are designed to shock audience and create controversy.

The poster showed the Tusshar Kapoor, Aftab Shivdasani and Mandana Karimi behind a curtain. Mandana Karimi is shown bending, while Tusshar Kapoor and Aftab Shivdasani have what looks like erect dicks.

The trailer, which released today, says that Tusshar Kapoor and Aftab Shivdasani play porn stars in the movie. The visuals comprise of wriggling bulges.

Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 describes itself as India's first Porn Comedy.

It is the third edition of the franchise, which started in 2005. In Part 3, Aftab Shivdasani replaces Riteish Deshmukh, while Tusshar Kapoor continues.

Sex in movies is ok as long as it is confined to the screen and available only for people, who pay to go to see it. Using it as a blunt marketing tool the way Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 is showcasing vulgarity in public.

Luckily there is a new Indian culture obsessed censor board under Pahlaj Nihalani, which is waiting challenges like Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3.

In the top 10 people Indians searched for, Sunny Leone was on top with PM Modi making up for the bottom.

If Google search is a measure of popularity, APJ Kalam was way above Modi.

Bahubali, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo were the top searched movies.

And interestingly, Flipkart was the most searched term.

"Those who commit heinous crimes like rape should be shamed, not the victims or their families. You should take her name too," she added.

It is for  the first time anyone has mentioned Jyoti Singh's name in public.

The 23-year-old paramedical student was sexually assaulted on the night of December 16 three years ago, and died 13 days later.

As Indian law prevents naming the victims of rape, Indian media started addressing her as Nirbhaya or brave heart.

Asha Devi was addressing the audience at 'Nirbhaya Chetna Diwas' a public event organised by citizens groups at the Jantar Mantar.

She also demanded that the juvenile convict, who is scheduled to be released on December 20, should not be released.

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar was in Chennai on Wednesday to meet Rajinikanth and other team members of Enthiran 2.

Though there were rumours that he was being cast as the villain in the movie, he refused to comment on that. But after getting back to Mumbai, he tweeted a photo saying he was ending 2015 on a high note with Robot 2, which is the Hindi name of Enthiran 2.

Here are the five things to know about Enthiran 2 and Akshay Kumar's role in that.

1) Akshay Kumar reportedly replaces Arnold Schwarzenegger as the villain. It is not clear why talks with him broke down. Some say at Rs 100 crore fee Arnie was making the movie too expensive and some say he had certain existing contractual obligations, which came in the way.

The next choice was Aamir Khan, who showed interest, but backed out later. Reasons not clear.

2) Enthiran 2 will be the most expensive Indian movie ever made. Director Shankar thinks big and spends lavishly. With Baahubali setting the new production quality benchmark, you can expect the best of special effects, technicians and settings. Mary E Vogt of Men in Black fame will design special costumes. The movie is being shot in 3D format.

3) Rajinikanth plays the lead along with Amy Jackson, who may also play a robot. AR Rahman will compose the film's music and Nirav Shah will roll the camera.

4) The movie hit the floor on Wednesday. The first shot was canned between 9.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. Lyca productions cancelled a grand launch for it due to flooding in Chennai.

5) Enthiran 1 released in 2010 with Rajinikanth and Aishwarya in lead. It was a huge hit and grossed over Rs 250 crore.

Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, who was campaigning for the Sunday's election, was punched in face by a 17-year-old teen. The attack took place in the city of Pontevedra, ironically Rajoy's hometown, on Wednesday evening. The unidentified attacker managed to get close to Rajoy and delivered punched him on the left cheek.

Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, who was campaigning for the Sunday's election, was punched in face by a  17-year-old teen.

The attack took place in the city of Pontevedra, ironically Rajoy's hometown, on Wednesday evening.

The unidentified attacker managed to get close to Rajoy and delivered punched him on the left cheek.

The police have arrested him and probing the motive.

Rajoy's austerity measures have made him unpopular though his Popular Party is expected to win the election with a reduced majority.

Quoting sources in the know Mid Day said Katrina Kaif has told her friends that she needs to spend a few days with Ranbir Kapoor urgently to see where their relationship is going.

Ranbir Kapoor has been away on his shooting assignments for quite sometime now.

Over the last few years the couple has been spending their New Year in New York after a Christmas break in London with Katrina Kaif 's family.

But this year Katrina Kaif reportedly wants to go to a remote island where there would be quiet and solitude for them to introspect and take a stand.

There have been tell-tale signs that the couple have been drifting apart.

Both share a commitment phobia though for different reasons and the supposed engagement and marriage has failed to materialise.

Gossip has it that Ranbir Kapoor, despite being in his mid-30s, is still not mature enough to shoulder the responsibility of a married life. While Katrina Kaif is said to be unrealistic in her expectations and also not sure if Ranbir Kapoor would stay committed for life.

Two bulls fought ferociously on Allahabad University road on Wednesday. The fight that was recorded on the video shows them blocking traffic and damaging parked vehicles. Though one bull lost the battle and fell down, the victor continued to gore it.

Two bulls fought ferociously on Allahabad University road on Wednesday.

The fight that was recorded on the video shows them blocking traffic and damaging parked vehicles.


Though one bull lost the battle and fell down, the victor continued to gore it.

To drive it away, a few men took lathisand started raining blows, but hardly  making any impact  on the tough animal.

As Shahrukh Khan’s Dilwale readies to release, supporters of right-wing groups are mobilising to boycott it. They hold that Shahrukh Khan insulted India with his intolerance remark and needs to be taught a lesson. As the tweets below show many of them see it as their patriotic duty to ensure that Dilwale flops at box office.

As Shahrukh Khan’s Dilwale readies to release, supporters of  right-wing groups are mobilising to boycott  it.

They hold that Shahrukh Khan insulted India with his intolerance remark and needs to be taught a lesson. As the tweets below show many of them see it as their patriotic duty to ensure that Dilwale flops at box office.

They have also rejected an  apology Shahrukh Khan has reportedly given to a ABP News. The channel has released a part of the interview and will air the full footage on Saturday, a day after Dilwale hits the screens.

This is the second time in as many months, bhakts are mobilising with a boycott call. They had called for a boycott of Snapdeal earlier in protest against its brand ambassador Aamir Khan, who had also hit out against intolerance.

The body of Air Indiatechnician Ravi Subramanian was so badly mutilated it could not be sent for post mortem examination.


Ravi Subramanian was sucked by an engine of Airbus A 319 in a nightmarish accident on Wednesday in Mumbai. The aircraft was being towed when its engines were started by a co-pilot.

It also took several hours, almost the entire night to retrieve the body, which stayed stuck in the engine. The accident occurred at bay 28 of the Chhatrapati Shivaji airport around 8.40 pm.

Giving details of the accident NDTVsaid Ravi Subramanian was at the spot with a helper, who was also close to the engine and had a narrow escape. He sat down instantly once the aircraft started unexpectedly moving and managed to save his life.


But Ravi Subramanian, who was standing with his back to the aircraft and was wearing a headset, died instantly.

The ground staff had violated standard operating procedures and failed to place wedges to stop wheels from moving when aircraft's engines were started.

There was also lack of proper coordination between the pilots and ground staff. The co-pilot, who started the engine without waiting for clearance signals from the engineer, has been grounded along with the pilot.

Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau is probing the accident.
