India’s most expensive lawyer Ram Jethmalani is defending Delhi CM Kejriwal against the defamation suit filed by Finance Minster Arun Jaitley, free of cost.

Jaitley has slapped both criminal and civil suits on Kejriwal for making allegations of corruption in DDCA when he was heading it.

In an interview with Scroll, Jethmalani says  Kejriwal got in touch requesting him to represent him. Jethmalani promptly said: "Yes, I will surely represent you."

Jethmalani, who reportedly charges Rs 25 lakh per appearance, is  India’s highest paid lawyer. But he told Scroll that 90% of the work he does is pro bono that is in public spirit, without charging clients.

“I am not charging any fee from Kejriwal and that’s because his government itself is so poor,” he told Scroll.

He says Kejriwal has a good case as Jaitley consciously shut his eyes to the fraud in the DDCA.

He dismissed Jaitley as a lawyer, who has not appeared in any big case, but still has 10 times more bank balance than him.

A group of Delhi university women give an idea on the routine ordeal they are subjected to in an Old Delhi Films video: My First Experience of Sexual Harassment.

Children are not spared; many had to cope with rampaging men in their most innocent years, as young as six or seven years.

The molesters can come in any form - from servants to strangers.

So many of these experiences involve men flashing, masturbating before targets - there seem to be a pattern here.

The experience leaves all of them scared and scarred. But as they say, the only way out is standing up to the creeps.

A must watch.

NSG was waiting for terrorists at Pathankot, but Indian officials have many questions to answer

Thanks to a tip off and alert forces, a major terror attack has been foiled in Punjab, which had earlier suffered a similar incident at Gurdaspur.

The Pakistani terrorists, who came to attack Pathankot airbase, found that Indian soldiers were fully ready to take on them

They found NSG commandos, Army and Air Force SWAT teams and helicopters waiting for them.

A PTI report says Army had positioned two columns (comprising about 50 men) and a team of Special Forces at the Pathankot Air Force station prior to the attack.

The terrorists still engaged Indian troops for more than five hours in fierce gun battle, which saw four of them and three IAF men getting killed.

This was one terror attack that almost happened with a prior announcement.

Reports that a few armed men had abducted Punjab Superintendent of Police Salwinder Singh had put the authorities on full alert that terrorists could be on loose.

A team of NSG commandos had been rushed to Punjabon Thursday night itself.

But the authorities faced a daunting task.  A border state, Punjab, has too many targets for terrorists.

Punjab has frontline IAF bases in Pathankot, Adampur, Halwara and Bathinda and army presence at Jalandhar, Pathankot, Amritsar, Bathinda and Patiala.

As events unfolded, the attack happened at Pathankot.

The Indian officials have several serious questions to answer:

How could the terrorists be on the run for nearly 24 hours after the abduction of a police officer of the SP rank?

How could they get so close to the Pathankot airbase and even penetrate it. IAF says terrorists could not get access to the technical area where the MIGs are kept. This is an admission that they were close enough.

Why did it take more than five hours to pacify a terror attack, which did not have the surprise element?

Even the report of the abduction of SP needs to be closely ascertained. Why would the terrorists  abduct a police officer drawing attention to themselves? And, what made them let him go, knowing that he would alert authorities?

Like Indian officials, did they also bungle up?

Men said their partner's post-birth fuller figure turned them on.

But women were found to be a little fussy. They worried that their partner did not fancy them any more and felt they were 'too fat for sex.'

Four in ten said they did not want their breasts touched by their man because they are breastfeeding.

A few women also strikingly tried to use bed-time activity as a workout to shed baby weight.

Daily Mail, which summarised the study findings, said on average new mums and dads waited for nearly two months to have sex again.

One of top politicians of the country Nitish Kumar has declared that his assets are worth just Rs 58 lakh.

He has cash, deposits in banks, movable and immovable properties, but together they amount to less than Rs 60 lakh – the size of a middle class flat in any big Indian city today.

Nitish has had made it mandatory for himself and his ministers to declare their assets annually since 2010.

Nitish also disclosed that his son Nishant, an engineer who studied at BIT Mesra, is worth a little over Rs 2 crore. Nishant keeps a low profile and has never dabbled with politics.

People, who know Nitish Kumar well, would not be surprised by his asset details.

He married Manju Sinha, a teacher, in 1973 but could never support her as he was a struggling politician and had no source of income. She continued to work as a school teacher to fend for herself and her son.

The couple’s relationship had come under strain.

She was so bitter with Nitish over his inability to provide for the family, she refused to move into the CM’s bungalow till she died of illness in 2007, notes journalist Sankarshan Thakur in his books The Brothers Bihari.

In early ‘80s Nitish had thought of quitting politics and becoming a PWD contractor to make a living.

He had lost a string of elections till he became an MLA in1985.

His rise was meteoric after that, and in little over a decade, he had become a union Minister in  Vajpayee government.

When AAP asked its Delhi MLAs to promote awareness about the odd/even traffic scheme, it did not expect them to resort to photoshop.

That is what the party's Chandni Chowk MLA Alka Lamba stands accused of.

She posted a photo on Twitter on Saturday holding up a placard that read -  ‘Dilli ka hai ghut ta dum, milkar karein pradushan kam (Delhi is suffocating, let’s join hands to reduce pollution)’.

The image created a storm as many of her supporters pointed out that it was an old photo taken during Delhi University elections and had been modified to support the new traffic initiative.

Though Alka Lamba deleted the photo, AAP leaders think she has been callous about an important party programme. They may even take action against her, reports The Hindustan Times.

Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari made an offensive remark against veteran actress Asha Parekh on Saturday by claiming she had climbed 12 floors of his building to lobby for a Padma Bhushan award.

Gadkari was addressing a public gathering in Nagpur on Saturday and was joking about how giving out awards had become a `headache`. He was being chased by the award aspirants seeking his recommendation, he pointed out.

As the audience laughed at his statements, he continued: "Asha Parekh came to me for Padma Bhushan. The lift of my apartment had broken down, so she climbed 12th floors…”

“I really felt bad about it," Gadkari said with a chuckle.

Gadkari enjoys a good conversation and especially likes to speak to his home audience and is known to get carried away.

In May, this year he had claimed that he stored his urine in a large can to nourish his plants. Even this memorable statement was made before his home audience.

Even supporters question Modi’s ill-timed speech on Yoga (With video)

January 3, 2015, NewsCrunch

P M Modi came under heavy criticism for an ill-timed speech on Yoga on Sunday.

He made a speech on Yoga in Bangalore even as security troops battled highly-trained terrorists at Pathnkot airbase in Punjab.

The over 30 hour gun-battle ended with the killing of six terrorists. Seven NSG personnel also lost their lives.

Modi went to Bangalore on Sunday after inaugurating the Indian Science Congress in Mysore.

He was scheduled to inaugurate the International Conference on Frontiers in Yoga Research and its applications.

The conference had been organised by Vivekananda Kendra of Dr H R Narendra whom Modi considers as his Yoga guru.

In his nearly 20 minute long speech Modi recalled Swami’s Vivekananda’s vision and his own contribution to make Yoga universally popular.

But his speech failed to impress many of his even ardent supporters, who said Modi was better off monitoring the tense security situation than extolling the virtues of yoga.

More than half of British pilots say they have experienced laser attacks by pranksters, says a new survey.

The prank involves shining a hand-held laser at the cockpit of a plane, which is either preparing to land or take off.

Pilots say they are distracted or even blinded by the light depending on its intensity and that puts passengers to grave risk.

Worse, the menace seems to be spreading with the growing popularity of hand-held lasers, which are used in presentations.

In a survey of 810 pilots by British Airline Pilots Association, 55% of respondents said they had experienced a laser attack in the past 12 months.

The growing threat of lasers have prompted calls for the devices to be treated as offensive weapons, the Sunday Times reported.
