BJP MP Yogi Adityanath slammed Bollywood actor Anupam Kher as a  "real life villain" on Tuesday.

"Kher is not only a reel life villain, but also in real life. I don't want to say anything more on his statement made in Kolkata,"The Times of India quoted Adityanath saying.

During The Telegraph National Debate, Kher had said there were Yogis and Sadhvis in BJP, who spoke nonsense and "should be thrown out of the BJP and put behind bars."

Adityanath, who is usually outspoken, was remarkably guarded perhaps due to the high regard with which BJP leaders, including Modi, hold Kher.

But Adityanath is a political heavyweight in his own right, who can win from Gorakhpur with or without BJP's support.

Kher has rubbed Adityanath in the wrong way earlier as well.

After Adityanath had attacked Shahrukh Khan last year on the intolerance controversy, Kher had disagreed with him. He had compared Adityanath to Congress  motormouth Digvijaya Singh and said such talk was stupid.

They are currently at the IAF academy near Hyderabad, in the second phase of a three stage training programme. They have completed stage-I training on the Swiss Pilatus PC-7 turboprop aircraft and are now flying the Kiran Mark-II aircraft.

If all goes well officers Bhawana Kanth, Avani Chaturvedi and Mohana Singh will be inducted as first Indian women fighter pilots in the Indian Air Force.

They are currently at the IAF academy near Hyderabad, in the second phase of a three stage training programme.

They have completed stage-I training on the Swiss Pilatus PC-7 turboprop aircraft and are now flying the Kiran Mark-II aircraft.

Next, they will undergo the final Stage-III combat flying training on Hawk advanced jet trainers for six months.


That would prepare them to getting inducted into regular fighter squadrons, which could range from Mirage-2000s to Sukhoi-30MKIs, reports The Times of India.


What are their chances of clearing the final challenges?

IAF sources told India Today that they are impressed with the mental strength and physical fitness of all the three women, who have to meet then same expectations as their male counterparts.

“Once we put them in a fighter cockpit we will test them to take more than 5 G + (more than five times the gravitational pull the body experiences) while flying,'' sources told India Today.

JNU Prof Nivedita Menon has shared the full video of her 2014 speech on Hinduism. She has been in the middle of a storm for questioning the accession of Manipur and Kashmir and also for criticising Hinduism. Writing in Kafila, she says a two-minute video, which shows her saying that Hinduism is the world’s most violent religion is in circulation.

JNU Prof Nivedita Menon has shared the full video of her 2014 speech on Hinduism.

She has been in the middle of a storm for questioning the accession of Manipur and Kashmir and also for criticising Hinduism.

Writing in Kafila, she says a two-minute video, which shows her saying that Hinduism is the world’s most violent religion is in circulation.


She also says Zee TV’s Sudhir Chaudhary had reportedly challenged her to prove the video was doctored.

She says the video is not doctored but “massively decontextualized.” It was not a classroom lecture, but a political meeting organized after the attack on Kiss of Love protest in Delhiin 2014.


She spoke at a meeting after the event and that was when she made her comments on Hinduism. She says she stands by every word and gesture in the 18 minute long video.

She quotes from the writings of Ambedkar and Periyar to criticise Manusmriti, caste system and the treatment of the depressed classes.

If she criticised Hinduism, she says, she did so by standing on the shoulders of these giants.

Video: Noisy Drunk girls terrorise man at Delhi Metro – eye-witness claims argument over seats triggered fight

A video of a group of girls uproariously drunk and creating a scene in Delhi Metro has gone viral. They are noisy, abusive and seem to target a man, who is seen cowering at the door in the video. Other commuters, mostly men, are seen watching silently, though some of them have their mobiles out in record mode.

An unverifiable eye-witness account says the incident occurred on the late evening of March 7, the eve of the International Women’s Day, as the train approached the Patel Nagar Metro Station.

An argument over seats seems to have triggered the ruckus, the account suggests. The man, who suffered the drunken aggression, has not reportedly come forward to file a complaint.

Kanhaiya Kumar viral photo is with friend, not teacher – slams attempt to malign JNU women in video

Kanhaiya Kumar has released a video to refute the rumours that the woman in the viral photo is his teacher. The photo shows Kanhaiya and a fellow JNU student sitting closely. The fellow student, who has not been identified, was reportedly just happy to see him coming back to campus from jail.

Kanhaiya Kumar has released a video to refute the rumours that the woman in a viral photo is his teacher.

The photo shows Kanhaiya and a friend, a fellow JNU student, sitting close. The friend, who has not been identified, was reportedly just happy to see him coming back to campus from jail.

The photo of them together sharing a moment of happiness went viral with Kanhaiya critics labelling the woman as a ‘professor’. They called upon him to explain his cosiness with her.

A Hindi newspaper reportedly published the photo asking similar questions on Tuesday.

In the video, Kanhaiya says it is an attempt to malign women on the JNU campus, who have faced consistent attacks


Referring to the pain the rumourmongers inflicted upon the woman JNU student, he asks:

“Is this a victory for Bharat mata or a defeat? You can decide for yourself."

Kannada superstar Darshan wife Vijayalakshmi reportedly filed a police complaint on Wednesday night filed a complaint alleging harassment from him.. Darshan allegedly stood in front of her apartment at Hosakerehalli, Bangalore, and created a scene, reports The Times of India. Darshan and his wife have been reportedly living separately for the past one year. Vijayalakshmi and the couple's son were not at home when the alleged incident took place. Kannada superstar Darshan's wife Vijayalakshmi reportedly filed a police complaint on Wednesday night accusing him of harassment.

Darshan allegedly stood in front of her apartment at Hosakerehalli, Bangalore, and created a scene, reports The Times of India.

Vijayalakshmi and the couple's eight-year-old son were not at home when the alleged incident took place. The security guard of the apartment has also reportedly filed a complaint alleging the actor abused him as well.

Vijayalakshmi has requested the police to summon the actor and advise him to desist from humiliating and harassing her. TOI quoted DCP (south) BS Lokesh Kumar saying the police have received a complaint and are looking into it.

The New Indian Express said Darshan had gone to his wife’s residence to take back his car when the alleged incident occurred.
Darshan had spent 14 days in jail in 2011 after his wife had complained to police accusing him of domestic violence. The couple had fought in a car, following which he had allegedly assaulted her. 

Darshan's proximity to actress Nikita Thukral was said to be the cause of the marital discord.

The issue had been sorted out of court largely due to the intervention of senior actor and minister Ambareesh. Though the couple resolved to sort out their differences, they had again separated and living independently over the last year.

Joginder Sharma: The man, who won 2007 T20 World Cup, is now Haryana Police Officer

Joginder Sharma, the man who bowled the famous last over in the 2007 T20 World Cup against Pakistan is back in news, though as a police man. Sports Illustrated broke the news that the lanky bowler, whose career faded after helping India lift the T20 World Cup is now an officer in Haryana police. The magazine says Joginder Sharma is a DSP rank officer, while a few reports which did follow up, say he has risen through the ranks and is now a DCP, that places him in the elite rung of the police force.

Joginder Sharma, the man who bowled the famous last over in the 2007 T20 World Cup against Pakistan is back in news, though as a police man.

The magazine says Joginder Sharma is a DSP rank officer, while a few reports which did follow up, say he has risen through the ranks and is now a DCP, that places him in the elite rung of the police force.

A closeup photo shows him sporting three stars and that makes him a DSP, but we are not sure when this photo was taken.

Whatever his rank, Joginder Sharma, who gave the nation a near heart attack in 2007 finals, is doing well. He has put on little weight and looks happy. He is also the captain of Haryana Police Cricket team by the way.

If you remember the 2007 finals, Dhoni seemed to have had more faith in Joginder Sharma, than the man himself. The India captain had to pick between the experienced Harbhajan Singh and the rookie Joginder Sharma.

Joginder Sharma had a tough task. Pakistan had to score 13 off 6 balls - not a difficult task with the in-form and rampaging Misbah at the crease. The first ball was a wide and the third ball went for a six.

Then Misbah decided it was harakiri time and went for a reverse sweep, giving a comfortable catch to Sreesanth, who incidentally is also out of the team, thought for entirely different reasons.

After the win, Haryana offered a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh and a job as DSP to Joginder Sharma, both of which he accepted. Records show that the man from Rohtak went through police training in 2007 itself.

Though he tried his luck in IPL as well, Joginder Sharma's cricketing career swiftly declined prompting him to focus more on catching criminals.

The Art of Living is giving final touches to its controversial ‘world’s largest temporary stage’ on Yamuna flood bank. The stage being erected over an area of seven acres equals six FIFA grounds. It will seek recognition from the Guinness Book of World Records as the ‘Largest temporary stage’ in the world.

The Art of Living is giving final touches to its controversial ‘world’s largest temporary stage’ on Yamuna flood bank.

The stage is being erected over an area of seven acres equals six FIFA grounds. It will seek recognition from the Guinness Book of World Records as the ‘Largest temporary stage’ in the world.

A video published by Dainik Bhaskargives the artist’s conception of the grand stage.

The stage is the major draw of the World Culture Festival being held from 11 to 13, March 2016, in New Delhi,to mark the 35th year of the Art of Living, a foundation set up by Sri Ravishankar.

Over 35,973 artists are expected to perform at the World Culture Festival showcasing the cultural traditions of dance, music and the arts from around the world.

The festival would be held over 1000 acres. About 3.5 million people from across 155 countries are expected to participate. They would try to set another Guinness record for the World’s largest peace meditation.

The critics of the festival, which includes the Delhi High Court, have described it as a disaster for the  fragile Yamuna eco system. The National Green Tribunal slapped a Rs 5 crore fine on Art of Living while giving it green signal on Wednesday after a two-day hearing.

Kanhaiya Kumar was fined last year for misbehaving with ex woman-student – JNU issues press release

JNU Chief Proctor’s office has reportedly confirmed that president Kanhaiya Kumar was fined Rs 3,000 for misbehaving with an ex woman-student last year, who had objected to him pissing in public. Showing an alacrity to come clean, JNU also issued a press release on Thursday saying Kanhaiya had indeed been disciplined by the Proctor last year.
DU lecturer Kamlesh Parmeshwari made a few posts on her Facebook on
the June incident after Kanhaiya shot into fame.

JNU Chief Proctor’s office has reportedly confirmed that president Kanhaiya Kumar was fined Rs 3,000 for misbehaving with an ex woman-student last year, who had objected to him pissing in public.

Showing an alacrity to come clean, JNU also issued a press release on Thursday saying Kanhaiya had indeed been disciplined by the Proctor last year.

A copy of the Chief Proctor’s order and the press release has been shared by a former JNU student Kamlesh Parmeshwari on her Facebook account. NewsCrunch has not verified the authenticity of the documents independently.

Kamlesh had complained to Chief Proctor in June last year Kanhaiya had misbehaved and threatened her after she objected to him pissing in public near his hostel.

In an order issued on Kamlesh, the Chief Proctor stated that Kanhaiya had been found guilty of the charge and of an act unbecoming a JNU student. He was fined Rs 3,000 and asked to pay up within 10 days.

Kamlesh made a few posts on her Facebook on the incident after Kanhaiya shot into fame.

She posted on February 16 recalling the incident and uploaded a photo of her handwritten complaint.

On March 3, she posted an ‘Open Letter’ charging that the JNU community had ganged up to create a false revolutionary.

“I am writing this letter to JNUSU president Mr Kanhaiya and other JNUites who are hell bend to portray him as the ‘Bhagat Singh’ of this century (sic) ,” she noted.

On March 9, Kamlesh posted a copy of the Chief Proctor’s order fining Kanhaiya. After many pointed out that it had not been signed, she posted two more documents on March 10.

The first document is signed copy of the Chief Proctor’s order and the second a press release from the JNU’s Public Relation’s office confirming that Kanhaiya was indeed fined by the proctor’s offfice.

Kamlesh is now with DelhiUniversity as an Assistant Professor.

The troubled relationship between Kannada star Darshan and his wife Vijayalakshmi got nastier with both of them trading charges in public. Reacting sharply to the police complaint lodged by his wife against him, Darshan said he had gone to her apartment to see his son but was prevented by the security guard. He also alleged his wife had given his Audi to her boyfriend, who had crashed it.

Reacting sharply to the police complaint lodged by his wife against him, Darshan said he had gone to her apartment to see his son but was prevented by the security guard. He also alleged his wife had given his Audi to her boyfriend, who had crashed it.

Vijaylakshmi and the security guard of the apartment where she lives in Bangalore, have complained to the police that Darshan had abused them on Wednesday.

Vijaylakshmi denied the charge and said there was no boyfriend on the picture. She said the Audi was being used only to drop their son to school while she herself drove an I-10.

She said after she moved out to live separately a year and seven months ago, she had been facing similar harassment from Darshan.

Acting on her complaint the police have summoned Darshan to appear before them for questioning.

Signs also emerged on Thursday that the couple may give one more shot at saving their marriage. Darshan has reportedly told the state women's commission, which has taken note of the incident, that he would try to resolve differences with his wife.

Vijaylakshmi also said did not want to do anything to harm D's image or career. She said her priority was to ensure that their son grew up in a good environment.

Minister and senior actor Ambareesh also stepped in to say he had spoken to Darshan and would try to sort out the matter.

Though son of a popular character actor Toogudeepa Shrinivas, Darshan struggled for a long till making it big. Son of a famous but not wealthy actor, Darshan  sold milk in Mysore after dropping out of studies. He also entered the Kannada film industry as an assistant to a camera man.

He and Vijaylakshmi fell in in love and married during his struggling days. The marriage ironically came under strain after he became rich and famous allegedly due to his link ups with several actresses.

A South American Magellanic penguin makes an annual 5,000-mile journey to meet a man who saved its life. Dindim, as the penguin has come to be known, swims from Argentina to a small island near Rio de Janeiro to visit João Pereira de Souza, 71, a retired bricklayer.

A South American Magellanic penguin makes an annual 5,000-mile journey to meet a man who saved its life.

Dindim, as the penguin has come to be known, swims from Argentina to a small island near Rio de Janeiro to visit João Pereira de Souza, 71, a retired bricklayer.

João, who lives in a ramshackle home on a beach, found Dindim in 2011 covered in oil and struggling to survive. He cleaned the penguin and nursed it back to health.

Dindim stayed with him for 11 months and disappeared after getting a new coat.

A few months later, Dindim returned. He spotted João on the beach and followed him home and stayed for months. The pattern has repeated since then.  


Dindim spends eight months of the year with Joao and spends the rest of the time breeding off the coast of Argentinaand Chile.


Dindim does not allow anyone else near him, even pecking those who try to touch him. He only allows João to pick him up and feed him sardines.

Businessman-on-run Vijay Mallya has tweeted from London denying that he has fled the country.

He describes himself as an international businessman who needs to travel.

There is an uproar in the media and Parliament on Vijay Mallya leaving for London just before the banks moved the Supreme Court to restrain him from leaving the country.

Vijay Mallya singled out Times Now editor Arnab Goswami and said he should be jailed and made to eat prison food for lying.

Arnab Goswami has been running a campaign against Vijay Mallya calling him the perpetrator of India’s biggest scam.

He has also alleged that someone tipped off Vijay Mallya just after CBI issued a lookout notice telling him that if he did not leave the country, he would be jailed along with Sahara’s Subroto Roy.

Arnab Goswami further claims Vijay Mallya called Jet Airways at 11.30 and left on its London-bound flight at 1.15 checking in 11 pieces of baggage.

Vijay Mallya also accuses media of taking favours from him and now lying to gain TRP.

There is a silly rumour going around that Hrithik Roshan will play Sylvester Stallone’s part in Hindi remake of Rambo. For those who think Indian movies really explore some hair-brained ideas it may not come as a surprise.
This was Hrithik Roshan setting the record straight on Rambo in his own way.

There is a silly rumour going around that Hrithik Roshan will play Sylvester Stallone’s part in Hindi remake of Rambo.

For those who think Indian movies really explore some hair-brained ideas it may not come as a surprise.

A Hindi paper took the rumour seriously enough to give it a half page treatment, prompting Hrithik Roshan to tweet it with a cryptic comment: Lovely.

This was Hrithik Roshan setting the record straight in his own way.

It also shows that Hrithik Roshan is finally getting a grip on Twitter. After getting lampooned for his delayed discovery of the dress that went viral, he has begun to grasp how the 140 characters real work.

In the Thursday’s India-West Indies warm-up match, the pick of the bowlers was the rookie from Gujarat, Jasprit Bumrah.

After two overs, his figures read 2-0-6-1. The wicket was of Chris Gayle.

A video shared by ICC shows Gayle utterly unable to read the explosive delivery and losing his stumps.

Unfortunately, the video does now show Bumrah releasing the ball, only its deadly impact – a dazed  Gayle walking back  after his wickets tumble.

Dhoni’s experiment with spin bowlers, who opened the innings, backfired after they got clobbered. It took Bumrah to help India get a grip on the match.

JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar has responded to the 15-year-old Ludhiana student Jhanvi Behal, who had challenged him for a debate. He has, disappointingly to Jhanvi Behal fans, rejected the call saying that he is a small man, who is just a student, who lives in a hostel.

In a video, which was released on Thursday, he advises Jhanvi Behal to pick on the USpresidential candidates, who have an election to face.

Jhanvi Behal had felt that Kanhaiya Kumar had made light of the PM Modi in his speech after release from Tihar, and had challenged him for a debate.

Pinky Lalwani, the woman who shared good times with former tycoon Vijay Mallya, is standing by him in his bad times as well. Media reports said when Vijay Mallya took Jet Airways flight 9W122 to London on March 2, he was accompanied by a woman. News X has identified the woman as Pinky Lalwani, Vijay Mallya's longtime partner.

Pinky Lalwani, the woman who shared good times with former tycoon Vijay Mallya, is standing by him in his bad times as well.

Media reports said when Vijay Mallya took Jet Airways flight 9W122 to London on March 2, he was accompanied by a woman.

News X has identified the woman as Pinky Lalwani, Vijay Mallya's longtime partner.

Since 2011, Pinky Lalwani has been Vijay Mallya's constant companion, travelling with him, and also playing hostess to his famous parties. She is close to his family, has been sighted with his mother as well.

Despite being attached to Vijay Mallya, not much  is known about her, except that she is a former Kingfisher  employee.

The NewsX report also referred to the rumours that Vijay Mallya and Pinky Lalwani may have married.

If true, that would make Pinky Lalwani, Vijay Mallya's third wife.

He married an airhostess Samira Tyabjee and divorced her in 1993. Budding actor Sidhartha Mallya was born from this marriage.

Vijay Mallya then married Rekha, his neighbor from childhood days, who had been married twice earlier. She had a daughter from her first marriage and a son and a daughter from her second marriage.

Vijay Mallya and Rekha have two daughters, Tanya and Leanna. He reportedly regards Rekha’s children from her previous marriages, as his own.

But the couple drifted apart over the years and Rekha now reportedly lives in the US.
