Salan Khan to play Adivi Sesh's role in Kshanam

Sajid Nadiadwala, who has bought the remake rights for Telugu thriller Kshanam,   seems to have  bagged his friend Salman Khan to play the lead.

He reportedly took Salman Khan for a private screening and the superstar loved every minute of it.

Ahmedabad Mirror says Salman Khan has bought the remake rights of Kshanam, though Sajid Nadiadwala seems to have already done that last month, paying an undisclosed but an undisclosed amount for the rights.

Directed by Ravikanth Perepu,  Kshanam follows a US-based NRI who receives a distress call from an ex and rushes to India. Her daughter has been kidnapped and he goes after the abductors, does his mission and reunites with the lover.

Adivi Sesh and Adah Sharma were in the lead in the original.

Kshanam was a low-budget movie made in a budget of Rs one crore. Mirror reports that with Salman stepping in, the budget of the Hindi version is likely to be 80 times more.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been slotted for a key role and the hunt is on for the lead actress and her daighter.

Shelar left Hrithik's house informing his security guards that he was going to file a police complaint. A few minutes later he received a call asking him to come back and collect his camera.

Hrithik Roshan stepped into one more controversy on Sunday when he allegedly snatched the camera of Mumbai Mirror photo journalist Raju Shelar. He kept it for a day and returned it only after Mirror threatened to file a police complaint.

Raju Shelar spotted Hrithik shooting for Mohenjo Daro inside China Creek at Thane  on Sunday and tried to take a few pictures.

One of Hrithik's security guards spotted Shelar, snatched his camera and handed it over to the star.

The actor was allegedly angry at Shelar for trying to leak his Mohenjodaro look, a baseless charge as it has already been outed.

He reportedly took the camera to his vanity van and asked Shelar to wait. When Roshan packed-up and came out, he asked Shelar to collect the camera from his Juhu residence at 11 am on Monday.

The next day Shelar went to Roshan's home and was  made to wait for five hours as the star was sleeping.

Roshan then wanted to speak to Shelar's boss and asked for an apology from Mirror.

Mirror told him that camera was private property and threatened to file a police complaint if it was not returned immediately. Hrithik refused and said he would think about it.

Mirror got in touch with Thane Police Commissioner Parambir Singh and Shelar left Hrithik's house informing his security guards that he was going to file a police complaint.

A few minutes later he received a call asking him to come back and collect his camera.

Train hostesses have been trained in basic etiquette and are proficient in English and Hindi

Former Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee's proposal to introduce train hostesses has finally seen the light of the day with the flagging off of Gatiman Express.

India's fastest train, Gatiman Express, which shuttles between Delhi and Agra, has introduced  20 train hostesses - two each for 10 coaches in the train.

Half of these will actually be men or train hosts. So, each coach will have two attendants - one male and one female - who will serve food, provide newspapers and assist in other ways to make the journey a flight like experience.

Train hostesses have been trained in basic etiquette and are proficient in English and Hindi, an official told India Today.

Railways also plan to introduce train hostesses in other premium trains, including Rajdhani, Shatabdi and the proposed Tejas Express train.

Quick facts - Gatiman Express

* The new express train can attain a maximum speed of 160 km per hour

* It will operate 6 days a week, except Fridays when Taj Mahal is closed

* Fare for AC chair car is Rs.750, for executive AC chair car it's Rs.1,500

* The new train also provides on-board entertainment facility free of cost by a private agency -- MyFreeTv.in.

* Has been fitted with bio-toilets and are fit to run at 160 km per hour.

Three dalit boys were beaten up and paraded naked in Rajasthan – five arrested after video goes viral

A viral video triggered a media outcry and prompted Rajasthan police to arrest five culprits for thrashing three dalit boys and parading them naked in Bassi area of Chittorgarh in Rajasthan.

The children, all less than 15 years, belong to Kanjar tribe, whose members are treated as outcasts in Rajasthan. They had allegedly tried to steal a motorbike belonging to an upper caste man.

A disturbing video shows a group of upper caste men beating up and parading naked the young children, who are seen pleading for help.

After the incident that took place last Saturday, the police had booked a case against the children for theft and taken them to a juvenile home.

But after viral video brought the incident to limelight they have arrested five accused men.

Two sisters, Komal and Shilpa,  shot themselves with their father’s licensed revolver in Bhuna town of Fatehabad on Monday.

Their father, a former sarpanch, had gone to his shop while their mother, a teacher, was at work.

Their brother, who returned from college, saw them lying in a pool of blood.

Though they had not left behind any suicide note, an India Today report, quoting parents and police, said unemployment drove them to kill themselves.

Komal, 27, was an Mcom graduate, while Shilpa, 25, was an MBA. They were reportedly frustrated that they were unable to get jobs despite their degrees.

An India Today reporter quoted parents saying the girls were ‘meritorious and cleared many eligibility tests’ but were not getting right jobs.

He also noted that reservation had touched 60% in Haryana and crossed the ceiling set by the Supreme Court. The girls were from general category and more people in future would also share their frustration, he predicted.

The sisters suicide is a tragedy, but blaming it on reservation is a fallacy. Questions should be raised on the economy and private sector, which have not been able to absorb the educated work force to the full.

Questions should also be raised on the quality of degrees most Indian youth are getting and if they are really equipping them with the skills that makes them productive.

Zareen Khan’s Facebook post has gone viral - 3,600 followers have commented on it showing their support

Zareen Khan, who is frequently targeted by body-shamers for being fat, has taken on her critics with head on.

She posted a message on her Facebook page on Monday along with two photos with a war cry – it is her body and there is nothing about it she is ashamed of it

One photo was taken when she was in 9th and another in 12th.

Both of them show an obese teenager, not a girl on her way to Bollywood.

In her Facebook post, Zareen Khan says she never let people’s comments or ideas bother her.

She decided to lose weight not because peer pressure but because she wanted to see how it feels to be a little lighter. She began her weight loss journey and liked it as she had had lots more energy than before and was transforming into a new person.

But after she entered Bollywood, her weight again became an issue with her critics.

The old photos shows where she had started the journey from; everything she is now is an achievement, she asserts.

Zareen Khan says it is her life and her body and only she has the right to decide what she is going to do with it.

She saves the best for the end. The weight loss came with lots of stretch marks and instead of hiding it, Zareen Khan believes in flaunting it.

It makes me feel like a tigress with her stripes, she says.

Zareen Khan’s message is well received. Her Facebook post has gone viral in the last  24 hours. It has been liked by 94,000 followers and 3,600 have commented on it showing their support.

Bollywood actress Rakhi Sawant launched a campaign against ceiling fans at the chautha ceremony of Pratyusha Banerjee, blaming them for increasing suicides.

Popular TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee had hanged herself last week and Rakhi Sawant had gone to pay homage to her.  

A video shows her carrying a ceiling fan to the ceremony.

She told reporters that many like Pratyusha were hanging themselves from the ceiling fans. To prevent such suicides, she wanted them to be replaced by table fans.

She said she would be distributing 5,000 table fans to spread her message.

Rakhi Sawant’s antics did not go down well with many who slammed her for trying to milk Pratyusha’s tragic death for publicity.

The robotic dance Emirates airhostesses performed at Eden Gardens before the ICC World T20 final between West Indies and England is said to be going viral.

The concept called ‘Welcome On-board is similar to what Emirates has been doing in Europe before the football matches. Before the match begins, its airhostesses arrive in a troop and perform a dance.

Following the script, the air hostesses entered the ground came sporting plastic smiles to welcome everyone on board.

As the crowd roared, they said welcome to EdenGardensand even pointed out that the stadium had 18 doors.

Then they gave important instructions to the audience on how to celebrate the final and went on to do what looked like a bhangra dance.

They made a small return after the match and danced with the winning team. Windies captain Daren Samy, who was in shorts and dancing to everything, did not mind having a go with their robotic steps.

Non-Kashmiri students say  police lathicharged them when they tried to go out of the campus (video below)

CRPF was deployed on Tuesday night at the campus of Srinagar NIT after non-Kashmiri students clashed with Jammu and Kashmir police and were lathicharged.

A viral video shows a policemen  chasing a small group of students and thrashing them. It is not clear in the video the circumstances, which led to the police action of students in this specific incident.

Several students have been reportedly injured.

Outstation students said the police lathicharged them when they tried to go out of the campus.

Police said they feared for the protesting students' safety as they tried to go outside the campus shouting slogans. They also alleged students misbehaved with them.

Non-Kashmiri students are holding a dharna demanding a meeting with HRD officials.

The campus has been witnessing clashes between local and non-local students over India's defeat in the semi-final match in the World T20 tournament.

After the clashes, the NIT authorities had shut down the institute which reopened on Monday.

A peacefully grazing rhinoceros charged against a tourist vehicle and attacked it with all its might in Namibialast month.

The incident took place at the EtoshaNational ParkNamibia, a popular dot on the tourist map.

Yashmeen Manak, 36, was recently crowned Miss India 2016 at a competition organised by Indian Body Building and Fitness Federation.

Though Yashmeen has been lifting weights for the last 17 years, she got into bodybuilding just three years ago. She also became Gladrags Mrs India last year.

Her journey has been successful but hard.

She was abandoned by her mother when she was just, who left home to marry a man she loved. Her father also re-married and Yashmeen grew up in a joint family of her paternal grand parents.

She says she had to grow up without any emotional support and in a constant state of emotional distress.

That made her tough.

She started working when she was just 17. She used to teach in a kindergarten in the morning and take aerobics class in the evenings. An obese teenager, Yashmeen was constantly harassed and that made her vow that she will take up weight training to improve her physique.

A self-made woman, Yashmeen runs a successful gym in Gurgaon and coaches more than 300 boys and girls every month.

Yashmeen is also an acclaimed belly dancer.

Excise duty is an assassination attempt on jewellers, says Rahul Gandhi (Video below)

Congress VP Rahul Gandhi visited Jantar Mantar in New Delhiin support of protesting jewellers and made a speech lampooning Modi’s flagship Make in Indiascheme as "babbar sher".

Rahul Gandhi had first described Make in India as "babbar sher", a mocking reference to its lion mascot, in his budget speech in the Parliament drawing angry reactions from BJP.

The jewellers are protesting against one per cent excise duty on non-silver jewellery items.

He told jewellers that Modi’s Make in India initiative would benefit only five to six big industrialists, “…who want to suck your blood and earn through 'dalali' (brokery). ”

"Babbar sher" wants to "strangulate" small businesses, Rahul Gandhi said, while adding that small jewellers did not have factories worth Rs 10,000 crore.

"This is not an excise duty on you. This is an assassination attempt on you. You are being killed.... But why are you being killed? Who will benefit from this?” asked Rahul Gandhi.

Archana Jha is married to a Bilaspur High Court lawyer and lives with her in-laws.

A photo, which shows Raipur’s DSP Archana Jha on a night patrol along with her daughter, is authentic.

The photo, which shows her holding a walkie talkie, and the four-year-old daughter sleeping on her lap, had gone viral sometime ago.

ABP Live checked with the police officer and reported that the picture was taken on February 13 at around 1: 30 am.

Archana Jha is married to a Bilaspur High Court lawyer and lives with her in-laws.

Unfortunately, the badly subbed copy– surprisingly for a website from a group which also publishes The Telegraph  - is not clear on what had compelled Archana Jha to take her daughter on a call of duty that carried risks.

BJP leader and J&K Deputy CM Dr Nirmal Singh deleted a tweet on Wednesday, in which he had announced that he had liked a documentary titled: Russian military’s most beautiful female soldier battalion.

He had posted the tweet on March 5, giving a Youtube link to the video with a comment that he had liked it.

Dr Nirmal Singh, not a regular on twitter, had not made any post after that date.

On Wednesday, he was slammed on social media for allegedly trying to underplay the J&K police action on non-Kashmiri students at NIT, Srinagar. Dr Nirmal Singh had described the lathi-charge as mild outraging many supporters of his own party.

His tweet on the beautiful Russian women soldiers had also been spotted and drawn a few interesting comments, perhaps prompting him to delete it.

For the record, Dr Nirmal Singh's account is not verified and the deleted tweet is available on Google search cache.

Close to mid-way of his term, PM Modi continues to enjoy good backing from his supporters in big cities

A survey finds that salaried and self-employed individuals in 7 cities, traditionally seen as BJP supporters, are imrpressed by Modi's performance.

Indian economy is doing well, jobs are being created, acchche din are on their way, and Swachch Bharat is the flagship programme they are most impressed with.

They concede nationalism-related controversies  have affected the government's performance, but the blame is put squarely on Congress.

It is only the budget which has not gone down well with this group.

Hyderabad and Kolkota are the only two cities which are not swayed by Modi. The rest in the survey - Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai swear by him.

The survey, carried out by ET-TNS, covered 2200 individuals in the age group 24 to 50. They earn between Rs 3 to 20 lakhs annually.

As experts say, the social groups with this profile are mostly drawn from upper castes, which form the core base for BJP.

The  good news for Modi is his supporters are steadfastly with him.

The bad news is this group not only votes less and also its impact on election results is minimal.

Mexican Ambassador Melba Pria has become a social media sensation after her white-colour chauffeur-driven auto-rickshaw was not allowed to enter the India Habitat Centre on Tuesday.

The Habitat Centre security guards and even senior officials refused to let her park her auto-rickshaw that carried a diplomatic number plate, reports Mail Today.

Ironically, Melba Pria had been invited to deliver a speech on public transport at the India Habitat Centre. She did not let the ugly incident affect her speech in which she called upon Indians not to play politics with pollution and take multiple approaches to tackle the menace.

It is not the first time Melba Pria has been stopped at the gates. Parliament security guards have also in the past objected to her riding in on her auto-rickshaw. But undeterred she presses on.

Melba Pria took charge as Mexican envoy last April after a transfer from Indonesia and quickly adopted to the ways of her host country.

Most strikingly, she decided to refrain from using a luxury car to get about and instead commute by an auto-rickshaw braving Indian summer and Delhi pollution.

She also overrode concerns that her security would be compromised.

She says auto is how most Indians travel and she has no reason to be any different. Travelling by an auto is also a wonderful way to promote her beautiful country, she says.

She had no problem getting used to it though her driver Rajendra Kumar from Uttar Pradesh took some time to get familiar with the three-wheel drive.

Melba Pria told Indian Express that when the Mexican foreign minister came, they left MEA in her auto.

A CCTV footage of the accident, in which a speeding Mercedes killed Sidharth Sharma, marketing head of a private enterprise, has surfaced.

The incident occurred at Sham Nath Marg in north Delhi's Civil Lines area on Monday evening.

In the video, Sharma is seen crossing the intersection near LudlowCastleSchool when the speeding Mercedes hit him.

Sharma had almost crossed the road, when the Mercedes reportedly over-speeding at 100 km/hour hit him.

Sharma tried to pull back to save his life, but the car was coming in too fast. It hit and flung him several feet into the air.

The accused fled from the spot leaving the vehicle behind and the police traced the car to Manoj Agarawal, a businessman. The vehicle was reportedly being driven by a teenager, whose identity has been withheld.

Ironically, Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan is getting a release in Hindi when he is all set to quit acting for full time politics.

On the eve of the release of Gabbar Singh, Pawan Kalyan explained to IBN live on why he doe not promote his films.

He believes in giving his best shot while shooting; if the film is good people will watch, if not it flops. As simple as that.

Why does he avoid the media? He is afraid of being misinterpreted. “Even to speak this much is killing me,’’ Pawan Kalyan says.

Meerut girl Devika Sirohi has hit the limelight as a member of a team of Purdue university researchers, who have cracked  the structure of Zika virus.

The team of seven, of which Devika Sirohi, 29, is the youngest member, published a paper in Science on March 31.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who is from Uttar Pradesh, tweeted congratulating her.

Devika Sirohi completed her schooling from Meerutand did graduation in BSC (biochemistry) from Venkateswara college of DelhiUniversity. She is now pursuing the final year of her doctorate from PurdueUniversityin the US.

She is multi-faceted and is said to be skilled in dancing, acting and skating as well.

Her parents say their daughter's hard work is the reason behind her success.

A monster alligator that was preying on cows at a South Florida farm has been hunted down.

Despite being ferocious animals, alligators face threats from not just humans.

Burmese pythons have emerged as serious challengers to alligators in South Florida.  A fully grown Burmese Python can reach over twenty feet in length and can be seen confronting the alligators frequently.

Wildlife photographer Heiko Kiera shot a video at Evergladesin 2011 showing a python devouring a young adult alligator. The alligators resists but is forcefully swallowed. It continues its struggle from even inside the python’s belly.

The video went viral and has been viewed over 77 million times.
