M S Sarkar, the famous libido doctor in Kerala, seems to have tasted his own medicine.

In old age now, and suffering from Alzehemiers, M S Sarkar had astonishing 56 children from eight wives and supported all of them under one roof in Thiruvananthapuram.

M S Sarkar, a Unani doctor, set up a clinic in Thiruvananthapuram and started issuing regular black and white print advertisements promising cure for low libido, erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation.

The ads made him a well-recognised name and his clinic, a roaring success. It is now being looked after by one of his many sons, Dr S K Sarkar, and continues to run the famous ad.

As article in Stance Magazine tells the fascinating story of M S Sarkar.

Born Mohammed Syed in Pakistan, he migrated to India, leaving behind a love which was thwarted by a stubborn grandfather, a famous royal physician.

After his parents settled down in Uttar Pradesh, he travelled the country curing people of their sexual  problems and picking up wives till finally settling in Thiruvananthapuram. He changed his name to M S Sarkar fearing for safety during the partition time.

He married so many times as a kind of protest against losing his first love, says his son Dr  S K  Sarkar.

Many of his sons are reportedly continuing with the family profession in different parts of the country.

Congratulations are pouring in for a group of Kerala girls, who have reportedly protested  against a ban on wearing jeans in their Thiruvananthapuram college.

Given the conservative colleges in Kerala, which frequently make odd-ball restrictions,  the story is convincing and the photo has gone viral.

The photo is real, but the story is fake.

It had gone viral earlier as well, in August 2015, when Mahesh Babu’s Srimanthudu had released. Many Telugu websites had featured the photo and spun their own story.

The most poplar version stated that a group of Mahesh Babu fans were mimicking his lungi avatar in Jaago Jaagore song. A few said the girls were from the USA.

The most possible explanation comes from stray comments which say the girls wearing lungi photo was probably from a college dance programme. It can also be probably traced to any college in India, not just Kerala, which abhors colour lungis.

But Kerala girls have in the past burnt the Internet by stepping out in lungis.

During last Onam, at the height of the Premam craze, a group of girls from St Teresa's College, Ernakulam, went to the campus dressing up like Nivin Pauly in lungis.

A Malayalam daily published the photo and was shared by Nivin on his Facebook page. It had also gone viral.

Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu has drawn widespread ridicule by claiming that he inspired Satya Nadella to become Microsoft CEO.

He has claimed that he started promoting Information Technology so early in AP, it inspired Satya Nadella, to take up a career in the subject, which eventually saw him becoming Microsoft CEO.

Son of an IAS officer Nadella Yugandher, Satya Nadella was born in Anantpur and had his early schooling in Hyderabad.

Chandrababu Naidu's speech, which was caught on camera, was made in Vijayawada during an official  programme Nava Nirmana Deeksha in the last week of May.

The CM said he had called to congratulate Yugandher when Satya Nadella was chosen to succeed Steve Ballmer at Microsoft. The retired IAS office reportedly told him that Satya Nadella got inspired by his talks on information technology and decided to pursue a career in that.

It was only because Chandrababu Naidu had spoken about Information Technology so early, Satya Nadella became Microsoft CEO, went the claim.

Chandrababu Naidu comments drew ridicule in AP, a state that is at the forefront of IT revolution in India. YSR Congress Party MLA Buggana Rajendranath Reddy held a press conference to refute Chandrababu Naidu's claim.

He pointed out that Satya Nadella had already become a computer science n engineer when Chandrababu Naidu became CM in the 1995.

The facts support Buggana Rajendranath Reddy. Satya Nadella passed out of electrical engineering  from Manipal Institute in Karnataka and got an M.S. degree in Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee in 1990.

That was well before Chandrababu Naidu became CM and started talking about Information Technology.

In the early days of Information Technology, Chandrababu Naidu and his Karnataka counterpart S M Krishna had aggressively promoted the industry in their states.

But using that record to claim credit for Satya Nadella's success is a bit far-fetched.

As Buggana Rajendranath Reddy asked by had Chandrababu Naidu failed to inspire own son Nara Lokesh to seek a career in Information Technology.

A slip would mean hurling down thousands of metres to the banks of the Chenab River that flows below. The rocky unmetalled road makes it a true adventure though local buses and truck drivers ply on the route routinely.

The region is so remote in the medieval time kings used to send their families here to take refuge during times of political upheaval. A few kings also used to exile criminals here.

In a memorable speech on Monday in Washington, PM Modi recalled ancient India’s accomplishments in fields as varied as fashion and medicine as evident in the sculptures at Konark.

He was speaking during the ceremonial handover of over 200 stolen cultural artifacts from the US to India. Thanking the US for the gesture, Modi said the value of the artifacts could not be measured in money for the people of India.

He went on to say that stone sculptures at Konark’s Sun temple had the vision to show a woman in skirt and carrying a purse, very much reflecting the modern fashion norms.

He also said he had seen a ‘slide’ made of stone which showed an embryo inside a woman, ‘layers of skin’ and the way to  carry out surgery on it.

Carbon dating had established that the embryo-in-woman stone dated back to 700 years and showed how early Indians had anticipated, modern medical developments, Modi said.

The PM’s speech trended on Twitter with many slamming his claims as unfounded. Modi had  earlier described the Ganesha-Shiva myth as the world’s first instance of plastic surgery during a speech in Mumbai.

Washington Post trolls Modi, a 'hugger of global proportions' - The 'awkward hugs and handshakes' of India’s Prime Minister

Modi  made headlines all over the world for his hugs and not all of them were flattering, the Washington Post article noted.

June 7, 2016, NewCrunch

On Monday, a day before Modi was to arrive at the White House Washington Post warned Obama that the Indian Prime Minister, a hugger of global proportions, was on his way.

The article, an 'analysis' by Adam Taylor was titled provocatively - The impressively awkward hugs and handshakes of India’s Narendra Modi

The main contention of the article was that  Modi suffered from an 'impressively awkward physicality'.

Modi had become well-known for his vigorous hugs and handshakes, which had caught the other world leaders by surprise. He made headlines all over the world for his hugs and not all of them were flattering, the Washington Post article noted.

Adam Taylor went on to list many incidents to show how Modi had turned diplomacy into a contact sport.

1) Modi's vice-like grip left a clear imprint on Prince William's hand when he visited India.

2) Handshakes were an exception and Modi was known more for his hugs, Washington Post noted in the same breath. It published photos of Modi giving bear hugs to Japanese Abe, American Kerry, Malasian Razak and Australian Abbot.

Modi's vice-like grip left a clear imprint on Prince William's hand when he visited India.
3) Some of these had led to controversies. After the customary bear hug with Holande, Modi also hugged the visiting French President from behind, prompting many Indians to comment if it was a fine diplomatic gesture to extend.

4) Germany's Merkel had appeared to snub Modi's extended hand but wanted only to exchange pleasantries before the national flags of the respective countries.

5) He controversially appeared to move aside Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who was blocking the cameras.

The article also noted Modi's love for selfies and style, which made him wear a suit with golden embroidered  letters, which spelt  - Narendra Damodardas Modi.

So, why does Modi hug the way he does. Washington Post quoted an Indian expert, who said, it was Modi's way of signalling that he was an equal, a friend and a very affectionate man.

It does not matter that the incident had occurred two years ago and that Arijit Singh has gone out of his way to apologise for that, though it was just a casual conversation between the two.

It also does not matter that the episode has given bad publicity and made him look petty. Holding a grudge, is all that matters for Salman Khan, it seems. Don't agree? Ask Vivek Oberoi.

Censor board chairman Pahlaj Nihalani has sensationally claimed that Udta Punjab director Anurag Kashyap had taken money from AAP

Ironically, he made the claim in a Times Now interview while dismissing that there was political pressure on him to stall Udta Punjab.

Dragging AAP into the controversy confirms in a roundabout way what his critics are saying – the trouble Udta Punjab is facing has to do more with politics than with film making.

Akali Dal and BJP reportedly do not want the film to release the way it has been made as it showcases their utter failure to battle the drug menace in Punjab.

Pahlaj Nihalani also confirmed that he had asked the filmmakers to drop the word ‘Punjab’ from the title. When Udta Punjab is based on fictitious characters why have the state’s name in the title, he reasoned.

He was not willing to confirm the number of cuts, which media estimates put at 89.

Reacting to the allegation that he had taken money from AAP, Anurag Kashyap said it was not worth a response. Making accusations was the defence if the guilty, he added.

After playing wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat in Dangal, Aamir Khan is reportedly planning to bring alive the epic saga of  Wing Commander (retired) Rakesh Sharma, the first and only Indian to fly into outer space.

An Indian Air Force pilot, Rakesh Sharma was selected for an Indo-Soviet space programme and in 1984 flew into the space riding Soyuz T-11 that blasted off from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhastan.

He spent nearly eight days aboard the Salyut 7 conducting scientific and technical studies which included 43 experimental sessions.

The news was broken by BollywoodLife, which quoted a source saying Aamir Khan had finalised his next venture, a biopic of Rakesh Sharma.

Knowing Aamir Khan penchant for perfection, you may expect a top class science-realism film with shots simulating the actual training, launch and space travel.

The story also comes with bits of drama.

Until the very close to the launch date on Aprol 2, 1984,, it was not clear if it would be Rakesh Sharma or Ravish Malhotra, another Air Force pilot, who had been selected by the Russians for training. Both of them were said to be equally good forcing Russians to select Rakesh Sharma by lots.

The Soviet Union had requested the Indian government to extend all honours to Ravish Malhotra as well.

Rakesh Sharma also spoke to Prime Minister Indira Gandhi from space, When she asked him how Indialooked from space, he famously said - Saare Jahan Se Achcha.

Knowing Aamir Khan penchant for perfection, Rakesh Sharma biopic may turn
out to be a top class science-realism film.

Sania Mirza and Farah Khan are good friends. Whenever Sania Mirza is in Mumbai she stays with Farah Khan. Is it to save hotel bills? Kapil Sharma asked.

‘No, it was to post selfies and boost each other’s Twitter following,’ was their answer.

As it went on, Kapil Sharma called Navjot Singh Sidhu, a regular fixture on the show, for help. But Sidhu preferred to maintain a safe distance.

Sidhu had come in a three-piece suit to impress the ladies, quipped Kapil Sharma. ‘Well, I don’t see his pant from where I am sitting,’ was Farah Khan’s response.

She also went on to demo how Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan would play tennis.
