Couple post disgusting selfie taken in front of burning Dubai luxury hotel on New Year eve

The popular luxury hotel, in the vicinity of Burj Khalifa, caught fire on the New Year eve and was covered by the who’s who of the global media.   Sixteen persons were injured in the raging blaze that took hours to control.  But a man identifying himself as AR Alateeqi posted a grinning selfie with a woman, taken in front of the tower, which was still aflame.

A couple has drawn rebuke by taking a selfie in front of the burning Address Downtown hotel.

The popular luxury hotel, in the vicinity of Burj Khalifa, caught fire on the New Year eve and was covered by the who’s who of the global media.

Sixteen persons were injured in the raging blaze that took hours to control.

But a man identifying himself as AR Alateeqi posted a grinning selfie with a woman, taken in front of the tower, which was still aflame.

The caption he gave to the photo infuriated people more.

Alateeqi wrote: 'New Year my dear Dubai. May God bless you and keep you safe, you always surprise us with the biggest fireworks.'

Many commented on the photo calling it inappropriate,disrespectful and in bad taste.

As one person, Azhar Siddique, asked: 'Why on earth would you do this?'
