In an interview with YouTube star Ingrid Nilsen on Friday, US President Barack Obama pulled out a few items that he usually carries in his pocket.
He says the items, which include a statuette of Lord Hanuman, helps him whenever he feels tired or discouraged.
The other objects are - rosary beads, a tiny Buddha statue, a silver poker chip and a Coptic cross from Ethiopia .
Obama said people give him mementos, which he likes to carry. They remind him of the people he has met and the responsibility he has towards the issues that may affect them.
He, however, clarifies that he is not superstitious, so does not necessarily have to carry them at all times.

But the Hanuman figurine, which Obama says was given by a woman, seems to be a personal favourite. When he had come to India last year, he had shown it to BJP leader L K Advani’s daughter Prathiba.
