Model and actress Poonam Pandey says she has sent a defamation notice to a media house seeking Rs 100 crore in damages after it published a scandalous allegation.
The website had published the story on January 19, which Poonam Pandey had immediately dismissed as fake. She had also tweeted saying she would take legal action. She had posted another tweet attaching an excerpt of the legal notice sent to the publication.
Poonam Pandey told The Times of India that she called up the reporter and asked if she had any evidence. The reporter allegedly told her that “”…There was no proof, but got to know about it from somewhere.”
"I have filed a Rs 100 crore defamation case against the media house,” she told TOI.
Poonam Pandey has been in and out of controversies over her continuous stream of revealing pictures and videos. Most recently, she had posted a jiggling video posing as Santa.
She said the report had hurt her for the first time in her career. Even her parents, who had never questioned her, asked her about the report, she added.
