Sonakshi needs to gain lots of pounds to play the bulky 40-year-old woman gangster |

The shooting for gangster bipopic Haseena has been delayed – one of the reasons that has been cited is Sonakshi Sinha needs time to put on weight for the movie.
Haseena is the biopic of a sister of Dawood Ibrahim of the same name, who build a notorious gang and was feared as the Godmother of Nagpada till she passed away in 2014.
After Sonakshi was chosen for the role last August, the shooting was scheduled to kick off in February, which has now been pushed to start later this year.
A source close to the project told Deccan Chronicle that Sonakshi needs to put on weight for the move in which she play a bulky 40-year-old woman.
She cannot do that till she gets her current films, Force 2 and Akira, out of the way.
Another account of the delay says Sonakshi is in two minds on doing the movie.
She is tempted that if she can pull it off, the film will put her in a different league. Sonakshi is flattered that Apoorva Lakhia even considered her for the role.
But Sonakshi is also apprehensive of playing a tough role knowing her limitations as a actor. The weight issue also seems to be troubling her mind.
An obese teen, Sonakshi struggled to lose pounds and transform into svelte heroine material. She still faces insensitive body shaming remarks that are thrown at her, as Rishi Kapoor did sometime ago.
She is not sure how looking like Aamir Khan in Dangal would impact her career.
