Bollywood star Aamir Khan addressed a press conference on the occasion of his hit film "Rang De Basanti" completing ten years. As to expected, the intolerance issue hijacked the press meet.
Here are the five key comments Aamir made on the controversy:
1) I understand the emotions of those who were hurt. But my statement was misunderstood by the media. I never said India was intolerant or that I wanted to leave the country.
2) I was born here and I will die here. Whenever I go abroad I cant stay away from my country more for than two weeks. I get homesick.
3) The PM has said unity in diversity is the strength of the country. If anyone tries to divide us, I will raise my voice again.
4) I love India, look at the films I have made in my career. I do Satya Meva Jayate to show my concern for the country.
5) My wife is Hindu, my sisters are married to Hindus, my cousin is married to a Catholic and my three children are half Hindu, half Muslim.
After the controversy broke out in November, Aamir had released a statement clarifying his remarks and asserting that he stood by what he said.
After two months of raging controvesy, he reiterates that, No apologies.
