A Tanzanian student was allegedly stripped of her clothes and paraded naked in Bangalore on Sunday night, it has been alleged.
Earlier reports of the incident had only mentioned that girl had been assaulted along with two of her friends.
The incident occurred on Sunday night on the Hesarghatta road after a Sudanese student had hit three bikes and run over a woman killing her.
The enraged local crowd had thrashed him and also the Tanzanian student and her two friends, who were not related to the incident and just had the misfortune of passing by.
On Wednesday Deccan Chronicle reported an allegation the girl had been stripped after assault quoting Bosco Kaweesi, who describes himself as legal adviser to African Students in
Local hospitals also refused treatment, he alleges.
The allegations are serious and require a thorough probe. The local community has tense relations with African students who live in the area. That also needs to be addressed.
