A video of Sonu Nigam singing from a Jet Airways plane's address system may have cheered many, but it led to the suspension of the crew that allowed the impromptu midflight performance.
The video shows Sonu singing two hit numbers - Do pal ruka and Panchhi nadiya - to the applause of fellow passengers. After it leaked on social media it promptly went vial.
But India's aviation safety regulator, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), was not amused at the air-hostesses allowing a passenger misuse the in-flight announcement system.
It probed the incident and asked the airline to act suspend the airhostesses and also ensure that such incidents did not occur in future, reports The Times of India.
The five air-hostesses have been grounded and will be subjected to corrective training to ensure better compliance to rules and procedure in the future.
The incident occurred during a chartered flight from Jodhpur to Mumbai on January 4.
