A major fire burnt down the the stage of a cultural show organised to celebrate the Make in India week at the Girgaum Chowpatty beach, Marine Drive, in Mumbai on Sunday evening.
A galaxy of dignitaries from politics, business, bureaucracy and Bollywood were present at the site of accident.
The fire started at 8:17 pm from below the wooden stage when a Lavni dance performance was on.
It took nearly an hour for over a dozen fire engines, which rushed to the spot, to control it.
The fire would not affect the Make in India schedule as the other events are held at the MMRDA Grounds at the Bandra-Kurla Complex.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the Make in India week on Saturday.
