While Pakistan has denied that LeT terrorist Mohammad Naved is from that country, Indian media has managed to trace his roots to Faisalabad.
Hindustan Times spoke to Mohammad Naved’s father Mohammad Yakub, who said he was being pursued by both the police and the LeT. LeT is reportedly unhappy that Mohammad Naved allowed himself to be captured alive.
“You are calling from India . We’ll be killed. I am the unfortunate father,” said Mohammad Yakub, told HT before cutting off the call.
HT accessed Mohammad Yakub’s phone number from the police who interrogated Mohammad Naved.
An India Today reporter also reachedFaisalabad but was unable to trace his family members. Mohammad Naved reportedly has two brothers, one a lecturer and another, a garments businessman.
India Today reporter saidFaisalabad is the hotbed of LeT activities, where it runs 10 to 15 madrassas, which attract thousands of local youth especially during Ramzan.
