Aamir Khan is reportedly trying to advance the release of his next movie Dangal to August 15 from Christmas.
Aamir Khan is fond of releasing his movies on Christmas as the season has proved to be lucky for him. Like SRK's Diwali, Salman Khan's Eid. it's usually Christmas release for Aamir.
Advancing Dangal release by nearly four months would put enormous pressure on post-production work and marketing of the movie, which is yet to wrap up its shooting.
But if a report in Bollywood Hungama holds true, the decision could well turn out to be a masterstroke from Aamir.
After the intolerance controversy'nationalists' are gearing up to boycott Dangal.
But boycotting Dangal, which deals with empowerment of daughters, would be trickier for 'nationalists' than campaigning against SRK's mindless fare, Dilwale. It is a biopic of legendary wrestler Mahavir Phogat and deals with the accomplishment of his daughters, the Phogat sisters, who have made India proud.
You can expect Dangal makers to go on an overdrive to promote it as a nationalist movie.
By pushing for the Independence Day release they would be further hoping to blunt any call to boycott it.
