Hrithik Roshan has urged the cyber cell of Mumbai police to act on the complaint he had lodged in 2014 on an impostor, who had been allegedly using a fake email id to impersonate him.
The email id is a key element in the legal notices sent by Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut to each other. Hrithik claims Kangana had been emailing an imposter, while she says he had created it to communicate with her secretly.
But there are indications that Hrithik Roshan may not have taken the issue of an impostor seriously.
First, according to the legal notices, Hrithik came to know about the impostor using fake email id in May 2014. But he lodged his complaint only in December 2014, after a delay of seven months.
A cyber cell official told Mumbai Mirror that Hrithik did not follow up on the complaint. The police had asked for printouts of the emails, with full headers and footers for lodging an FIR and initiating a probe.
This information, which was required to try to trace the impostor, was never provided by Hrithik despite reminders.
Hrithik had reportedly stated he had came to know about the impersonator through a fan – an unidentified young lady, who had been emailing the fake id.
The police say he did share the name of the young lady with them making it difficult for the investigating agencies.
