The India Bangladesh T20 World match in Bangalore went to the wire with India stealing a sensational win in the last ball. The last over was not for the weak hearted.
This is how the drama unfolded.
When Dhoni handed the ball to Hardik Pandya, Bangladesh needed 11 from 6 balls.
The dangerous Mahmudullah took one run off Pandya's first ball and the next delivery was hit by Mushfiqur Rahim through covers for a boundary.
Now, Bangladesh needed 6 runs from four balls.
Rahim got another four, nudging the next ball which slipped by Dhoni.
Now, the equation was 2 off 3 balls. And Bangladesh started unravelling.
Rahim mistimed the next ball to a pull a shot and was caught at the boundary. 2 off 2 balls.
With Mahmudullah on strike, it was still an easy ride for the visitors. But he mistimed a pull off another full toss and got out to an athletic catch taken by Jadeja.
Now Bangladesh needed 2 runs off the last ball. Shuvagata Hom missed and Mustafizur Rahman ran for a desperate single. Dhoni ran in opposite direction and got to the wicket faster.
India win by one run.
