Yoga guru Ramdev said on Sunday that lakhs of heads would have rolled for not chanting Bharat Mata Ki Jai if India did not have a Constitution and rule of law.
He was speaking at a 'Sadbhavana Sammelan' organised by 'Samajik Samrasta Manch', an RSS-affiliated anti-reservation body.
He was responding to AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi’s statement that he would not chant Bharat Mata ki Jai even if a knife is put to his throat.
He rejected that argument that chanting Bharat Mata Ki Jai went against the precepts of certain religions.
"If any religion prohibits chanting of Bharat Mata Ki Jai it is against national interest,” he said.
A video of Ramdev’s speech shows the audience cheering him as he speaks. He goes on to shout Bharat Mata Ki Jai into the mike urging the audience to follow him.
