A video shows a massive fireworks display at Puttingal Devi temple suddenly giving way to an explosion.

In a mind-numbing tragedy over 80 people were killed in fire, following an explosion at the Puttingal Devi temple at Paravoor, at around 3 am on Sunday.
A video shows a massive fireworks display at the temple suddenly giving way to an explosion. The explosion occurred in the store room where the crackers pyrotechnics materials had been stored.

Hundreds of people had gathered to watch the fireworks show,  which was being  held as part of a local festival, which started at midnight.

Over 200 people, who have been injured in the mishap, have been admitted to nearby hospitals.
