When Kerala CM Ooman Chandy spoke to PM Modi on Sunday morning seeking helicopters to air-lift injured victims of Kollam fire, little did he know that Modi himself would rush to him for assistance.
Modi left Delhi on Sunday before noon with a team of 15 burn specialists drawn from different hospitals of the capital to personally supervise the relief operations.
A temple fire at Paravur in Kollam following an explosion has killed over 100 and injured at least double the number of people.

He has reportedly waived off protocol that requires the Governor and the CM to be present tor receive him.
Though he is stated to land in Kollam directly, he may have to fly to Thiruvananthapuram and take a helicopter from there to reach the accident spot.
