On August 1, an art show Projecting Change dominated the skylines of New York City by beaming the pictures of endangered animals and Goddess Kali on the Empire State Building.
On August 1, an art show Projecting Change dominated the skylines of New York City by beaming the pictures of endangered animals and Goddess Kali on the Empire State Building.
Projecting Change designed by filmmaker Louie Psihoyos projected pictures of endangered creatures, Cecil the lion, and other nameless endangered animals. The idea behind the show was to highlight the massive wildlife extinction.
The show ended by beaming portraits of the Goddess Kali accompanied by Sanskrit chants on theEmpire States Building .
Artist Andrew Jones, who created the Kali artwork, said Kali, the Goddess of death, was brought in at the end as a warning that destruction was imminent if the warnings on ecological damage went unheeded.

The Projecting Change team used 40 stacked, 20,000-lumen projectors to beam images on a space that spanned 375 ft tall by 186 ft wide. The projections covered 33 floors of the southern face of the Empire State Building .
