It's not just Anant Ambani, even Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has lost significant weight in recent months - 18 kgs in three months, to be precise.   His body weight has dropped from 122 kgs in December to the current 104 kgs and over the next few months he hopes to touch 88-90 kg.   Fadnavis had modeled for a textile showroom in his younger days. He hopes to get his earlier fitness back.

It's not just Anant Ambani, even Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has lost significant weight in recent months - 18 kgs in three months, to be precise.

His body weight has dropped from 122 kgs in December to the current 104 kgs and over the next few months he hopes to touch 88-90 kg.

Fadnavis had modeled for a textile showroom in his younger days. He hopes to get his earlier fitness back.

How is the CM losing his weight? Mumbai Mirror outlines his fitness regimen which is showing remarkable results.

1) Behind every man's successful weight loss there is a woman. It was his wife Amruta's own weight loss programme which inspired him to lose his portly stature.

2) Fadnavis consulted the best doctors in the field. Holistic health guru Mickey Mehta  and Jayashree Todkar, a metabolic and bariatric surgeon, are mentioned in the report.

3) Among other things, he seemed to have had problems with metabolism and has been prescribed medicines to improve it.

3) As a chief minister Fadnavis leads an active life walking up to 10,000 steps a day. But he gets less than five hours of sleep a day. So, he has been taught breathing exercises to manage sleep deprivation.

Fadnavis is also undergoing agility-and-strength training and sport stretches; but given his schedule, he is able to spend about two hours a week on them.

4) He has been recommended three healthy meals a day with a a balance of proteins and fats, minimised carbohydrates and fibre.

His diet revolves around a cup of tea a day, a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes for proteins, .bhakri, chapati or wholewheat bread for carbohydrates, green vegetables and low-glycemic fruits for fibre
