Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu surprised Mumbai commuters by travelling in a 'local' train on Thursday.

He had gone to an event to mark the 100th year of the Central Railway's Matunga Workshop. From there he boarded a local train at Currey Roadstation and alighted at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST).

Even his ministerial status was not enough to get Prabhu a covered seat on the packed Mumbai local. Standing in the train, he interacted with commuters and listened to their suggestions.

PTI reports that a commuter gave him a wedding invitation and requested the minister to accept it.
