BJP is preparing Rajat Sethi to fill in the gap left behind by ace pollster Prashant Kishor.

After helping Modi win the 2014 polls spectacularly, Prashant Kishor left BJP to join JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar after reportedly falling out with Amit Shah.

After he played a big role in JD(U)-RJD win in Bihar, it was clear that BJP was missing his social media, campaign and strategising  capabilities.

The party is now hoping that the new whizkid, Rajat Sethi, will step into Prashant Kishor’s giant shoes.

Rajat Sethi, a public policy graduate from Harvard University, is also an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur. A co-founder of Arthasastra Foundation, he has been active in BJP since September 2015.

His team has a few other graduates from IIT Kharagpur - Aashish Sogani, Mahendra Shukla and Ashish Mishra - and a former Hindu journalist, Subhrashta. Many laso have reportedly left Prashant Kishor team to join him.

Assam is his first big test, where he started working late last year to build a vision document.

The team has been gathering data, to grasp the ground reality, and identify voting patterns and socio-economic indicators of each constituency, reports Catch News.

They are focusing on 90-odd seats where the Hindus are in a majority and have built a locally-driven campaign machinery than banking on national leaders, notes The Indian  Express.

BJP leaders are happy about Rajat Sethi and say he is not publicity crazy like Prashant Kishor.
