Actress-turned-politician Roopa Ganguly got into a brawl on Monday with a TMC worker at her constituency Howrah North.
A tense looking Roopa Ganguly was caught by cameras shoving a TMC worker outside a polling booth in
TMC workers alleged Roopa Ganguly had slapped one of them and registered an FIR against her.
As the voting fourth phase of the Assembly elections began, Roopa Ganguly complained of booth jams – a practice of clogging the booths to block rival supporters from voting.
She also alleged that BJP voters were being intimidated and polling agents being driven out of the booths. She visited different polling booths drawing angry from TMC workers who exchanged heated words with her.
In one of the booths at Salkia, it got out of hand, resulting in a physical scuffle.
Trinamool supporters accused her of forcing her way into the booth and disrupting the poll process.
“…Trinamool goons surrounded and bad-mouthed me," said Roopa Ganguly.
