To protest Odd-Even traffic Scheme, BJP MP RP Sarma rides horse to Parliament (video)

BJP MP RP Sarma on Wednesday went to Parliament on a horse.

The MP from Tezpur, Assam, said he had an even number vehicle and could not afford to buy an odd one to travel on odd days.

But Sarma was stopped near Rail Bhavan by the Delhi police, who did not allow his horse to proceed towards Parliament.

Sarma had also hung a wooden board hanging from the neck of his horse that read "pollution free vehicle".

Many MPs have sought exemption from the Odd Even Scheme saying they came from all parts of the country and had important work to do.

Secretary in Lok Sabha Secretariat D Bhalla said on Wednesday that MPs took decisions related to people of the country and deserved exemption from the Odd Even Scheme.
