Video: Watch Isro’s PSLV lifting off with IRNSS-1G from Sriharikota – Indian GPS in sight

Indiatook its final step towards building a regional navigational system with the launch of of IRNSS-1G, the seventh and last satellite in the series.

IRNSS will help Indiabuild an alternative to the global positioning system managed by the US.

A Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C33) lifted off at Sriharikota at 12.50 PM and soared into clear skies.

The four-stage rocket injected IRNSS-1G into the designated orbit 20 minutes after the lift-off.

The PSLV has completed 34th consecutive successful mission and lived up to its reputation as ISRO’s workhorse.
