Andhra Pradesh's Gitam University authorities, who have just endured a media storm for their silly bus pass rules  are now facing a Change, org petition, which is urging them to switch on the ACs.

The petition signed by 1,200 students ask the officials to keep the AC on at the multi-story ICT or Chandrahaas building at Vishakapatnam. The online campaign, which started last week and has closed now, reminds the university officials that the temperature has not come down.

"It is extremely intolerable to sit throughout the day in such harsh conditions....even though we have paid fees, which cover the amenities such air conditioning, the authorities have not responded," states the Change.Org petition.

"Its a simple request, switch on our AC," it pleads.

The petition has also been posted on a Facebook-page related to the Gitam University, where it has drawn 70+ likes and a few comments.

It seems to be a long-standing demand of the students, which the university officials, known for their bureaucratic procedures, have ignored. Only the  principal and the heads of the department enjoy the AC relief from the Andhra summer, while the students and the regular staff seem to be sweating it out.

The Hyderabad branch of the University was in news recently as a rule they imposed while issuing the bus pass drew media attention. Rule number 5 of the pass asked boys and girls not to sit next to each other in the buses.
