Senior actor Rishi Kapoor has landed in a controversy by asking a simple question: Why are so many national assets named after the Gandhis.

He says he respects the party and the family but the question remains.

He sent a series of tweets on Wednesday with his questions that turned him into a raging trend.

Rishi Kapoor says he is not seeking any publicity, we agree he does not need any. He also says he is just speaking as a plain citizen without any political motive. We agree.

Rishi Kapoor told India Today that he was watching TV last night when he came across a demand from V K Singh to rename Akbar Road in New Delhi That triggered his train of thought – why are so many national assets named after one family.

As an alternative, Rishi Kapoor says, assets can be named after eminent local citizens, Lata Mangeshkar or JRD Tata or Azim Premji or Sachin Tendulkar, for example.
