The Narendra Modi government is spending Rs 103 crores of the  the taxpayers money for its second anniversary celebrations.

This is just a 10th  of the amount projected by Delhi CM Kejriwal, who had put the number at Rs 1,000 crore.

The Telegraph reports that Rs 85 crore would be spent on radio and television ads and Rs 18 crore on newspaper ads to highlight the government's major achievement.

The money would be spent over a week-long campaign, which is already underway, and is being routed through the Directorate of Audio-visual Publicity.

However, this amount does not include the expenses involved in hosting six mega events at India Gate, New Delhi, and five state capitals on Sunday.

The amount paid to Geometry Global Encompass Network, an event management company, to organise these spectacular shows, has not been disclosed.

An official of the Geometry Global told the Telegraph that he had been told not to talk about the event at all.
