Censor board chairman Pahlaj Nihalani has sensationally claimed that Udta Punjab director Anurag Kashyap had taken money from AAP
Ironically, he made the claim in a Times Now interview while dismissing that there was political pressure on him to stall Udta Punjab.
Dragging AAP into the controversy confirms in a roundabout way what his critics are saying – the trouble Udta Punjab is facing has to do more with politics than with film making.
Pahlaj Nihalani also confirmed that he had asked the filmmakers to drop the word ‘
He was not willing to confirm the number of cuts, which media estimates put at 89.
Reacting to the allegation that he had taken money from AAP, Anurag Kashyap said it was not worth a response. Making accusations was the defence if the guilty, he added.
