An image of the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa, draped in Indian Tri-color has been found to be photoshopped.

Along with it, the news that Dubai's iconic building would adorn Indian national colours for two days has been declared a fake.

It had been earlier stated that Burj Khalifa would light up in Indian Tri-colours   - Saffron, Green and White - on August 16 and 17 in honour of the visiting Indian PM Modi.

The information came at the backdrop of the New York's Empire States Building beaming Goddess Kali's images  to create awareness about the looming ecological disaster.

The news that Burj Khalifa would honour Modi went viral on social media and even a few TV channels reportedly covered it.

But on Sunday, Emaar Properties, which owns Burj Khalifa, told a Dubai publication that there was no plan to cover Burj Khalifa, with Indian Tri-color.

Emirates 24|7 quoted a company spokesman saying reports of special celebrations at Burj Khalifa to honour Modi were not correct.
