AAP MLA Praveen Deshmukh, who faces the charge of holding an office of profit , had claimed that he had not materially benefitted from the post.
He is one of the 21 AAP MLAs, who were appointed as parliamentary secretaries, and may be lose his seat if the Election Commission upholds the charge.
There were reports that Praveen Deshmukh’s father still repairs tyres at his puncture shop inBhopal , while the MLA shared a rented flat with his friends in Delhi .
Shruti Tomar of The Hindustan Times visited the Praveen Deshmukh’s father’s puncture shop in Jinsi,Bhopal and found that the reports were correct.

P N Deshmukh, 55, continues to work at his small shop making a living from it despite having an MLA for a son.
He told HT that no member of his family was greedy for money or power.
He is proud that his son led a simple life, staying with his friends, even after becoming an MLA.
“If my son wanted to become rich, he would never have quit his job as regional manager of a reputed company inDelhi ,” he said.
P N Deshmukh is also not bothered that his son may lose his seat. If that happens he will go back to becoming a social worker, he says.

An MBA from Barkatullah University , Praveen Deshmukh shifted to Delhi from Bhopal in search of a better job. He quit a job that was reportedly paying a good salary to join the India Against Corruption movement led by Anna Hazare and got close to Kejriwal and friends.
