Singer Sona Mohapatra was among the first in Bollywood to slam Salman Khan for his insensitive remarks on rape.
And the trolls promptly went after that. In a post on Facebook, which has gone viral, Sona Mohapatra has shared what she went through.
She says the trolls made thousands of rape threats, morphed her images and threatened to put her out of work, in an echo of what Salman Khan does to people such as Arijit Singh, whom he does not like.
Sona Mohapatra says she will not be silenced and dares ‘‘ that 'talented' thug’’ Salman Khan to try his luck with her.
“I can think of 100 different ways to make a living… I will choose to sing and perform my music till the last day. Not him, not anyone can stop that,” she says.
She also blamed the media for making heroes out of those who regularly misbehave, talk rubbish and go unpunished.
They become brand ambassadors of 'goodwill', Sona Mohapatra says, referring to Salman Khan’s new role in promoting Indian Olympics team.
