In an online survey,  women have reported of having had more sexual partners than men.

Women said they have had an average of 7 sex partners, while men averaged at about 6.4 partners.

The discrepancy could be more as the survey also found that men inflate and women deflate the number of people they have slept with.

The survey conducted by SuperDrug Online Doctor covered more than 2,000 people in the US and Europe, reports Salon.

The survey also asked the threshold men and women  would consider  “promiscuous.”

Men think women who have slept with more than 14 partners are promiscuous, while women think men who have had 15 partners or more as promiscuous.

On the the other hand, men who have had 2.3 partners see themselves as too conservative, while for the women the number is 1.9.

A little over 30% of men and women are ok sharing their sexual history with their new partners within a month.
