The shocking death of globally renowned paranormal researcher Gaurav Tiwari has added to his mystique.

The founder of Indian Paranormal Society, Gaurav Tiwari, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the bathroom of his Dwarka flat last Thursday.

He had reportedly told his wife that a negative force was pulling him towards it and he
had been unable to control it.

His father Uday Tiwari, a non believer, said Gaurav’s wife thought he was depressed due to work overload and did not tell anyone about it, reports The Times of India.

Gaurav Tiwari knew that his choice of career carried some risk and had spoken about it in his last video recorded on May 26. He had run a live show on Facebook taking questions from fans.

He said paranormal was a fun, docile world that carried an occasional danger. There were spirits that did not want to be disturbed and turned hostile when that happened.

To a question, he said, yes, there were indeed spirits that could harm you.

But he also said he never took any protection from hostile spirits and gave an interesting explanation for that.

He said he was not a ghost hunter but a paranormal researcher. If he took protection, he would not be able to make contact with the ghosts as they would keep away.

Whether you believe in paranormal activity or not, there is no denying that Gaurav Tiwari was soaked in its pursuit.

He had reportedly worked on 6,000 `haunted' locations, UFO abductions and mysterious creatures. He was photogenic, knew how to communicate and was known in several countries, including USA and Australia.

In India, TV shows such as Haunted Weekends with Sunny Leone and MTV's girl's night out, Bhoot Aaya and Fear Files shot him to limelight.

Gaurav Tiwari’s foray into paranormal hunt was an accident. He had gone to Texas in 2006 to become a commercial pilot. He did not do well in the course and blamed it on the `haunted' flat where he was put up.

He left his training and became a certified expert on paranormal activity.

Delhi Police suspect that Gaurav Tiwari committed suicide but are clueless about the motive. The family says he had no reason to end his life.

Gaurav Tiwari reportedly fell down with a thud while using the bathroom on Thursday morning at 11 am. His  family members tried to resuscitate him in vain.
