A huge crowd gathered at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai to protest the demolition of Dr BR Ambedkar’s office in Dadar, in June.
The protest had been organised by Ambedkar’s grandson, Prakash Ambedkar, who had also invited JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar to take part in the protest.
Kanhaiya Kumar gave a stirring speech and raised his azadi slogans, which reverberated through the crowd.
The Quint reports that a private body had demolished Ambedkar’s office which dated back to 1930, the site from where he launched his political movement.
