Rajinikanth's Kabali has hit thousands of screens worldwide.
A 65-feet cutout went up in Trichy, Chennai shows opened at 4 am, while in Mumbai it was at 6 am. 2,800 people reportedly watched the first show in France.
In Chennai, streets are empty as people are congregating at theatres. Tamils in Malaysia and Singapore are emotional that their history has been brought alive for the first time by Indian cinema.
