The government decision to ask its diplomats posted in Pakistan to send their children home is a culmination of a security review that started at least a year ago.

After the terror attack on Peshawarschool, which saw the death of 130  children, Indian diplomats grew concerned about the safety of their children.

Over 60 children of Indian diplomats and support staff at the Indian High Commission in Pakistan are studying at the US-runInternationalSchoolof Islamabad (ISOI).

Every day they cover a distance of 11 km from the Indian High Commission to ISOI, reports The Telegraph.

The Indian High Commission uses four bullet proof buses to ferry the children.

At least one parent would accompany each bus in the round about trips. An escort vehicle would move ahead of the buses, steered by local drivers.

All of this had reportedly made the children a prime target for militants prompting the Indian decision.
