Chennai police say Vasanth Paul fails to trace accident spot; woman, auto driver remain missing
The viral story of Chennai phographer Vasanth Paul took a different turn on Tuesday with the police saying he was unable to trace the spot where the woman was attacked.
In his Facebook post on Friday, Vasanth Paul had stated that he had seen three thugs trying to rape a woman at Alandur. After he tried to intervene, one of them had tried to strangle him till an auto-rickshaw driver came and chased the thugs away.

The viral story of Chennai phographer Vasanth Paul took a different turn on Tuesday with the police saying he was unable to trace the spot where the woman was attacked.
In his Facebook post on Friday, Vasanth Paul had stated that he had seen three thugs trying to rape a woman at Alandur. After he tried to intervene, one of them had tried to strangle him till an auto-rickshaw driver came and chased the thugs away.
The post and the photos of his injured neck had gone viral drawing widespread appreciation.
The police said on Tuesday they could trace neither the woman nor the auto driver.
The News Minute quoted Deputy Commissioner of Police, Kalyan, saying Vasanth Paul failed to both locate the spot and re-enact the incident.
Vasanth Paul reportedly said he was unable to lead police to the site as he was intoxicated, stated NDTVquoting Additional Commissioner, K Shankar.
Vasanth Paul told The News Minute that he was co-operating with the police, but had failed to identify the exact spot.
The police are not sure how he sustained injuries on his neck.
