The flooded Tinau River washed away a suspension bridge at the Nepalese border town of Butwal on Tuesday.

The dramatic collapse of the bridge, one of the longest in Nepal,  was caught on a mobile camera by an onlooker.

The footage also has the audio of people shouting to warn those on the other side of the bank about the imminent collapse.

The footage shows the massive bridge collapsing and sinking in the gushing Tinau waters without leaving any trace in a matter of minutes.

Media reports suggest a police search party was in the vicinity of the bridge at the time of collapse and there is no information on its fate following the incident.

Experts say the erosion of land by the flooded Tinau may have caused the collapse of the bridge.

Butwal, a border Nepal town is about 120 km from the Indian city of Gorakpur.

The TinauRiveroriginates at the MahabharatMountains and flows across Nepalbefore entering India to join the Ganga.

The government said at least 58 people have been killed over the last two days, while another 20 people are missing.

The Nepalarmy is racing to evacuate hundreds more from flooded villages as the waters rise.
