Initial reports said the man, C Shameer, 33,  had raised pro-ISIS slogans triggering a terror scare.

Shameer,  a native of Kannur, got up suddenly and tried to accost an airhostess. He hit a few fellow passengers, who tried to stop him, and reportedly even tried to get into the cockpit.

His brother told passengers that Shameer was mentally unstable and was being taken to Kerala for treatment.
