Real estate in India has become so expensive, for the same money you can probably get a better deal in Europe.

India TV reports that the money you spend to buy a flat in New Delhi or NCR may fetch you a three-acre plot with a farmhouse in Spain.

The TV channel estimates that the average price for a modest flat would range Rs 30 to 40 lakh in NCR, which is also the going price of the smaller farmhouses in rural Spain.

It quotes a Barcelona-based website www.Aldeasabandonadas.com, which has listed several farmhouses at a starting price of Rs 38 lakh.

An average farmhouse comes with a three-bedroom house, barns, and 140,000 sq ft of farmland.

As Spainis reeling under a recession many people are leaving their villages in search of better prospects in the cities leading to a plunge in the real estate  market.
