Baby faced men, who are unable to grow beards, are opting for implants to look more mature or attractive.

The New York Times interviewed many surgeons in the US who said they were doing lot more beard implantations than ever before.

The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery says beard transplants more than doubled in the two years between 2012 and 2014.

The factor behind the growing popularity seems to be the technology, which has been refined to make implanted beards look natural. Surgeons transplant single hair follicles taken from scalp. This means they can be shaved and then grown, just as with regular beards

But they don’t come cheap and may cost anywhere between $5,000 to $25,000 depending on the density desired.
