Kohinoor, the diamond Queen Elizabeth II wears in her crown, is an emotive issue for Indians.
A short video by Israel's Harry Oppenheimer Diamond Museum on Kohinoor, which was discovered 5,000 years ago in India, explains why.
Kohinoor symbolises the centuries-long colonial rule by the British and Indians want it back to correct the injustice. But the British have refused saying it is their policy not to return any precious assets extracted from former colonies.
Senior British MP Keith Vaz supported the Indian demand to get Kohinoor back on Tuesday, while backing Shashi Tharoor's demand that the UK compensate for its colonial damages.
A short documentary by Israel's Harry Oppenheimer Diamond Museum explains why the stone is so precious and the long history behind it. Kohinoor passed between Indian rulers till it landed in the British hands.
The documentary also introduces the lesser known a 140 carat Regent Diamond, which was also mined at Golkonda mines and is currently on display in the Louvre Museum in Paris.
Harry Oppenheimer Diamond Museum keeps the exact replica of the world's most famous diamonds, including Kohinoor.
