International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) has allegedly refused to screen Priyamanasam, a Sanskrit movie, for promoting Hindutva.

The KeralaStateChalachitraAcademy organises IFFK every on behalf of the Kerala government's department of cultural affairs. This year IFFK is scheduled to be held between December 411,

A Facebook page managed by a BJP activist said the film was rejected following objections by a Kerala Minister.

Speaking to The Economic Times, the film director  Vinod Mankara refuted the allegations that Priyamanasam promoted Hindutva agenda.

Priyamanasam tells the story of poet Unnayi Warrier, who wrote the Nalacharitham Aattakkatha, a Kathakali play in the 17th century.

While Priyamanasam may have found road blocks in its home state, it has been selected as the inaugural film in the Indian panorama section of the International Film Festival of India to be held in Goa this month.
