Yves Rossy said they were like mosquitoes buzzing around the plane at 4,000 feet over the Palm Jumeirah and Dubai skylines.

A camera crew captured the action from an helicopter flying thousand feet above.

Emirates also released a behind-the scene video showing how the event was carefully choreographed weighing in all variables. The air space, all flying objects had to confine to, was demarcated and when everyone involved felt it could be done, Emirates flashed the green signal.

Emirates has released the footage to showcase the skill of its pilots and the adventurous spirit of its team. It also brings out how fearless the two Jetmen are.

A retired fighter pilot, Rossy now spends time in Dubai, to bring winged human flights closer to reality. He has built a seven-foot wing span that is mounted with four kerosene-powered jets and fixed to the back of the pilot with a harness.

His protege is the champion skydiver and BASE jumper Vince Reffet.
